I've been wondering where the Hannity bashing lately was coming from. I like him. He's one of the few who gave the Swifties the time of day. Rush gave them a lot of attention too, of course. But Hannity singlehandedly dragged cable news into giving the SVfT air time to tell their stories. The rest is history.
Thank you from FR-land, Shawn. You're a great American and a great FReeper!

I don't respond to personal attacks, I've stopped asking questions because I don't get responses, I get attacked. The immigrations posters need to look in the mirror, because they are only distancing themselves from the everyday average poster who might be on their side. I was once ridiculed because I live in Wisconsin and don't fully appreciate the immigration issue. I'll tell you, our local little paper posts a list of crimes, drunk driving, robbery, etc and 90% of those crimes are perpetrated by people with Hispanic names, here legally or illegally. Not to mention we are only a couple hundred miles away from Canada. It frosts me that some posters on FR are so closed, so set in their ways, so ignorant to listening to others, I just avoid them. I'm sure there are more like me out there. Sean was right, we eat our own.

I'm not quite sure if he made that type of sweeping, blanket statement.
I do believe that some-note the qualifier that I used-very intelligent-or at the very least, interesting-FReepers have been unjustifiably exiled from FreeRepublic.
So in that sense, Sean does have a valid point.

Well .. I've been on a few threads where I didn't recognize any of the posters and I was pounced on for every word I said - in gangland style.
It happens to everybody. I just make a note of their names and I NEVER RESPOND TO ANYTHING THEY SAY. Most of the time they just spew junk in order to make you explode - and then they sit back and watch as the explosion expands and more people come onto the thread and start badmouthing ideas or people, etc.
THIS ISN'T NEW - IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR AS LONG AS F R HAS BEEN HERE.
We cannot be so thin-skinned that we allow disruptors to manipulate us.

Technically, he said that he left two years ago. That would be when he saw what he saw. He said he has not been back, so he could not possibly have been commenting on the current state of things.
I think I remember him saying something similar on the air late in the summer of 2002, so it had to have been even more than two years ago.

"Sean has a book? [Sorry, but I couldn't resist.]"That's not a very original comment, BTW, and it gets pretty old reading the same tired old "joke" over and over. It lost its humor many threads ago, if it was even funny then.

I like your tagline. It inspired me.We need to wear the unfocused, bitter attacks from the MSM with pride. Makes them look just that much smaller than they already are. And it keeps them from being able to later pretend they never uttered them.

I don't think it has to do with his perception of whether Freepers like him or not. I think he mentioned the reason.
He has a discussion forum of his own and he wants people to use that instead.
Basic Capitalism 101.
You and your FR are the competition, and he was doing a promotion piece for his product.
Sort of an honor, in a way.
