Michael Savage just made a call to arms! TAKE DOWN THE ACLU (Total Vanity)

About 30 minutes ago, Michael Savage was talking to the mother of 2nd Lt. Patano. He was extremely upset after the interview. He said that he is donating $50,000 to Patano's defense and he also made a call to arms to take down the ACLU.
HE WANTS TO BRING DOWN THE ACLU! He said that if you buy his book, he will donate 10% of the sales to Patano's defense and he is now making it his main goal to take down the ACLU.
I do not know if he is completely serious, but if he is, this might just be the boost those of us who are interested in firing back at the ACLU need.

Savage does whatever Joseph Farah did three months agoCorrect. But remember what Rush Limbaugh did for Bill Buckley's ideas.

One's feeling about the ACLU usually depends upong whose ox is getting gored at the moment. I believe that virtually everyone on this board supports the general concept of civil liberties, and would be the first to scream bloody murder and go running to the ACLU (if necessary) were their civil liberties being violated.
Sure, they often take on unpopular causes that make me gag, and too often they get caught between a rock and a hard place...but such is life.
Being conservative doesn't mean you have to be stupid and mindlessly parrot the party line...or does it?

I think he has defined himself as a populist in the past, but my memory's a bit fuzzy. :-)

Go to school, learn, make decisions based upon logic, not upon hype.
Thanks.
And exactly what school should I go to?

Did you join FR just so you post this?

It is not that they go after unpopular causes. They take the wrong side of popular causes. Why did they force LA county to take a small cross off of their seal? Why do they side with Michael Newdow? Why do they fight every little facet of religion in this country? Why do they favor gays, NAMBLA and illegal aliens? These are simply unpopular causes?

NO WAY! NOT ME! AND NOT MANY OTHERS EITHER!
I would run to the
ACLJ.

Savage will take down the ACLU (luv 'em or hate 'em) like he took down MSNBC when they canned him for some reckless remark he made on his former t.v. show. What a blowhard...and the pity is, he's a very educated man, completely insecure, but educated none the less. Just ask him...oh, I forgot. You don't have to ask because he keeps reminding his audience of that fact.

Infocats is dead on. Michael Weiner can talk a good game, but can he play one. Not to dash anyone's hopes here, but the day that Savage is able to take down the ACLU is the day that former governor Gray Davis starts a recall of Arnold Schwarzenegger and wins his old job back. Ha!
Weiner is at his best playing to a crowd, that is what the microphone allows him to do. It gives him 100% control over his environment. Without it, he does what he did on MSNBC and blames everyone else except himself for what happened. At least if you are going to be controversial then owe up to it and move on. You could probably build upon it (just ask Paris Hilton about spinning controversy).
As for the ACLU itself, I wouldn't trust them to dig a one foot hole in the ground and jump in and out of it. The difference between our government and the ACLU is that I can always vote my way out of bad government (hence the California recall). The ACLU, being an NGO (Non Government Organization), can't be voted out. Anyway, I don't care which Republicans work for them. It's just another punch in the card for a career in the private sector or something to hold them over for a better paycheck.
After listening to Michael Weiner for the longest of time, it is all a scam. I no longer listen to him regularly since it's the same stupidity over and over again. Stop ranting and go do something! Something tangible! Of course he has all these nice degrees in Ethnobotany, Anthropology, etc. But so what? You wrote 20 books? Some are co-written with another author. Where's the scientific and peer review? Are you sure the herbs are not all a scam?
And why do you use MICHAEL SAVAGE? The Weiner Nation does not have the same ring? Did you have a repressed childhood of the children taunting you by saying, "Nee Neer Nee Neer Nee Neer. You don't have a WEINER."
I think that is all I have to say on this for now. Come talk to me when someone has a real plan to enact real change. Other than that, have fun.

Without screaming rants, more bad people - and good people, would be dead right now...lol You're probably right, but I don't need to listen to screaming rants after a long day of working with liberals and homos.
I have my own business, so usually get to catch some Rush and some Howie Carr (our local conservative guy) every day.
I might agree with most of what Savage has to say, but would rather listen to a woman's voice, Laura Ingraham, (being re-broadcast at the same time as Savage in my area) and her only occasional rants, than listen to Savage.
I admire Savage for all he's accomplished in his life (not just radio), but don't want to listen to him when he starts screaming. I've already gotten my conservative news by then, and Laura is more soothing than Savage.

Figured I tag onto this. Savage is on the radio NOW (March 22) with a phone interview with Lt. Pantano.

A fine, well spoken fellow. I think it's going to work out for him.
