But the left keep telling us we're attacked because of our foreign policy. Why is France being targeted?

But... but.... but I thought the "root causes" intellectuals assured that us all terrorism was the result of American Aggression?! Oh, I get it, they were just hoping to kill American tourists because as we all know, the noble French have done nothing to enflame the righteous wrath of the Arab Street. And being such reasonable types, the Arab Street won't attack anyone who doesn't richly deserve it. Right? Right, guys? ... Guys? (chirp, chirp, chirp.... boom!!)

Decisions, decisions. So many places to attack, so little time. Madrid? Paris? Madrid? Paris? ...

I'd be curious as to why they wanted to carry out this attack. Have these guys made up a tale to save themselves?
To: popdonnelly
We must try to understand why they hate the French so much.

The fantasy becomes difficult to maintain. With the public murder in Holland and all the death threats, plus now this hair-brained scheme to attack in Paris, perhaps even the French are getting the uneasy idea that the 800 gorilla they invited in their home lacks.....manners.:)

"We must try to understand why they hate the French so much." I'm perfectly willing to extend them a little understanding, if not downright sympathy from time-to-time...

We must try to understand why they hate the French so much.(lol) Ahem, you realize that that's a tough project, very tough. We may never understand why anyone could hate the French so much.
And at the very least, the Muslims could make up funny jokes about it like everyone else.

A: So the French can kiss them.

By attacking Russian interests in Paris, they were, no doubt, attacking Iraqi interests in Paris at the very same time.
And, in the RTS game, Red Alert 2, the Russians turn the Eiffel Tower into a lighting machine with their lightning men units.

Blowing it up would be an undeniable wakeup call to the frogs. Of course, their response would be to haul down the tricolor and hoist the white flag.

"*Mournfully* Why didn't we just let them?"
"We" ? I'm afraid, Dave, that in this case "you", even in the broad, national sense, didn't have much to do with the arrests and the foiled attack.

We must try to understand why they hate the French so much. This brings to mind an interview with retired Berkeley professor Michael Nagler. When asked how can one reason with terrorists, his response was: "The same way you reason with non-terrorists: by respecting their humanity and listening to their complaints; that opens the dialogue." This wacko is an absolute lunatic who thinks we can reason with islamofaschists whose only two options for us are submit or die.
To: AlaskaErik
"The same way you reason with non-terrorists: by respecting their humanity and listening to their complaints; that opens the dialogue."I agree with everything he's saying, but I would add one more sentence, "And then you blow their f'ing brains out."
