CNN's Bruce Morton Urges End of Boycott of French Products: "Drink their Wine, Eat French Fries"
Inside Politics - CNN | governsleast governsbest

CNN liberal girly-man Bruce Morton just completed a segment on Inside Politics the point of which was to encourage Americans to stop boycotting French products.

His pitch came in the course of a segment demonstrating - through poll results and conciliatory remarks by Condi Rice - that American attitudes toward France are thawing.

He concluded his piece, standing at a bar with many bottles of (presumably French) wine in evidence, by instructing us "so have a glass of French wine, or eat a French fry - they're good!"

Thanks, Brucie, but when it comes to my personal economic foreign policy, I'll take guidance from my own principles, not from over-the-hill liberal hacks like you.

American news agencies became the mouth pieces of the French when their pal Saddam became history. They needed a new source for anti-American rhetoric. And the Clinton News Network have been the worst.

They are holding the next Super Bowl there, it will be the first time they've had a real football game in Detroit for decades.

George Radanovich, a conservative Republican representing the 19th Congressional district in California, is a wine producer. I don't remember exactly where his district is but it is in the Central Valley near Sacramento. I don't know what names his wines are marketed under but would like to give them a try.

I thought that went "We will sell no wine before it's bottled."

Why does CNN want us to support the enemy?

Let Eason Jordan explain it!

from http://www.nieman.harvard.edu/events/honors/morris/EASON-Morris.html

"I thank you very much for being here tonight. Let me also thank Fidel Castro. In the earliest days of CNN, when CNN was meant to be seen only in the United States, the enterprising Fidel Castro was pirating and watching CNN in Cuba. Fidel was intrigued by CNN. He wanted to meet the person responsible. So Ted Turner, who at that point had never traveled to a Communist country or knowingly met a Communist, [went to Havana]. It was big deal for Ted and during the discussions Castro suggested that CNN be made available to the entire world. In fact it was that seed, that idea that grew into CNN International, which is now seen in every country and territory on the planet." - Eason Jordan

That's right! It's the Castro News Network!

When it came to ordering the wine, I made a specific point of mentioning "I'm still boycotting the French."

What you should have said is "I'm permanently boycotting everything French." I certainly am.

Thank you very much but I'll stick to domestic wines, especially Texas wine.

I'm a bit confused by your comment. I mentioned I was boycotting French wines and mentioned a good American wine I tried yesterday.

Well, unless the potato came from France, I have never boycotted French Fries, or french bread or french toast for that matter.

You've got that right! I think the only thing the French are good at producing are WHITE FLAGS!

As far as foreign wines, the Aussies are getting pretty good and offer them at decent prices. And then there's the fact that they back up the U.S. every time, even more so than the British. If you're going to dine out and the restaurant wants to offer a foreign selection, encourage them to choose Aussie over French.

And they are getting buco dollars to fix their roads for the event. So what if the rest of the state has pot holes the size of small VWs?

Detroit needs their cruddy roads fixed!
