The President had no formal appearances today, but in a 98-0 decision, nominee Michael Chertoff was confirmed as the new Secretary of Homeland Security by the Senate. President Bush signed a declaration that Ohio is a major disaster area due to a severe ice storm, heavy snow flooding and mudslides (it's still a mess here!). First Lady Laura Bush spoke today at the 2005 Community College National Legislative Summit in Washington.
The Dems are on the run and losing ground. It's a GREAT Day to be a Bushbot, so ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

Here's a link, for those who may have missed it. Even when discussing the President's choice of exercise, the MSM can't seem to refrain from writing about him as some crazed right-wing nutty cowboy.

...who were the 2 senators who DID NOT vote?Not voting were Sens. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Arlen Specter, R-Pa. No word on why they didn't vote.
