The President had no formal appearances today, but in a 98-0 decision, nominee Michael Chertoff was confirmed as the new Secretary of Homeland Security by the Senate. President Bush signed a declaration that Ohio is a major disaster area due to a severe ice storm, heavy snow flooding and mudslides (it's still a mess here!). First Lady Laura Bush spoke today at the 2005 Community College National Legislative Summit in Washington.

I don't know what all the British use it for, but it's terrific on a warm scone topped with a dollop of jam. I gained a ton on that tea-time treat.

Little mention was made in the MSM about Saudi Arabia taking a baby step toward free elections last week, little mention was made in the MSM about Egyptian students protesting their government for the right to vote. THINK of what has happened in the past three years.....in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Palestine, in Ukraine, and now in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.......not to mention what's going on inside of Iran.
Just like when the Soviet Union toppled because of the strong leadership of Ronald Reagan, the Middle East is beginning to fall in line because of the strong leadership of George W. Bush.

I have never heard just precisely the same accent as the Kennedy's all seem(ed) to have, but I've heard similar. Even people in Massachusetts and Boston seem to have a different accent than theirs.
