Add "salivating morons" to the mainstream media's growing canon of stupid things to say about the ever-vigilant bloggers. Steve Lovelady, managing editor of the Columbia Journalism Review, the self-styled flagship of journalism, said this in the fallout of CNN chief news executive Eason Jordan's resignation on Friday: "The salivating morons who make up the lynch mob prevail." Add also, as loath as we are to do so, the Wall Street Journal's editorial comment from yesterday that professional journalism, of which it proclaims membership, is much better than "the enthusiasms and vendettas of amateurs." Click to learn more... As a general rule, we greatly admire the WSJ's editorial page, but we were a little disappointed to see this editorial yesterday, "The Jordan Kerfuffle," side with the mainstream liberal media which, by the way, has been perfectly happy over the years to harvest

I for one am proud to be a moron. (since they consider us bloggers).

"The salivating morons who make up the lynch mob prevail."
This, perhaps, explains why I need to replace my keyboard so often. As for lynch mob the term media frenzy pops to mind as I consider some recent big trials, scandals, and Dan Rather's faux pas.

Well, at least the Corrupt Old Media won't stoop to using deception and subterfuge (read: reporters operating under the FR moniker "MD4Bush") to force the firings of those "salivating morons" on web sites like Free Republic such as posters like "NCPAC."
I'd hate for the Corrupt Old Media to go after such Free Republic posters as NCPAC or Jeff Gannon, after all, much less after Swift Boat Vets who post here, after the Corrupt Old Media decried such "headhunting" by "lynch mobs."

(since they consider us bloggers). The MSM is too stupid to know the difference between an online bulletin board (Free Republic) and a blog.

By the way, Bob Beckel did his whacked out angry/lib/hack routine on Hannity and Colmes this night. Bob was all bent out of shape about "the blogger" and their effect on poor Eason Jordan of CNN. He was quite offended about the new growing power of places like this (board). Twice he angrily used the phrase "Lynch Mob Bloggers". It was hilarious.
Also, somewhere else it was noted that David Broder said what happened to Jordan was "overkill". I'd say his resignation was way overdue. Jordan, it is said, was quoted in The Guardian back in November saying much the same things as he did at the economic meeting.
Interesting, eh?

If any underlying theme could be found, it is called truth-hunting Bob Beckel can go jump in the lake. All Jordan had to do was release the tape, if he wasn't guilty of falsely accusing our troops. End of story.
But noooooooooooooooooooooo. Seems to me there was something to it, and he had nowhere to hide. haha

Add also, as loath as we are to do so, the Wall Street Journal's editorial comment from yesterday that professional journalism, of which it proclaims membership, is much better than "the enthusiasms and vendettas of amateurs."Wasn't every reporter who has ever written for them an amateur at some point in time? And isn't enthusiasm a desired trait in reporters?
Has the WSJ gone Native American? Should they be called "Running Scared" now as well? Maybe they're worried about someone counting coup on them as well and they're concerned about it.
