Need Intelligent Freeper Input: Guidelines For Our Prominent Freepers
Source: All of us | 02/11/2005 | By Laz

Posted on 02/11/2005 7:19:23 AM PST by Lazamataz

Recently, two Freepers who have some measure of prominance outside the forum have been damaged by liberals and/or Democrats. Jeff Gannon has resigned as a White House reporter, and the individual who goes by the name NCPAC has left his position in Maryland.

J. Gannon wasn't necessarily damaged by anything he posted here, but NCPAC was damaged by the work of a Democrat mole or a Washington Post reporter who revealed his freepmails.

It should be possible to post on this forum with anonymity and to be able to really discuss what's on your mind without worrying about Democrats trying to ruin your professional life, so, in order to help prominent Republicans who may wish to be an active member of Free Republic, I'm formulating some suggestions that I would like to have new users see.

This is what I have so far, as far as guidelines to help our prominent freepers avoid damage in the future:

If You Are A High-Profile Individual In “Real Life”….

If your daily job is such that you are a high-profile individual – as example, an official in a Republican campaign, or a state official in a Republican administration, or a rightward-leaning reporter – please read this article and take these suggestions.
  1. Please don’t reveal your identity. Please don’t drop hints as to who you are. Please don’t succumb to the temptation to show off a little and thusly compromise your anonymity.

  2. Know that there are Democrat operatives (and now, it appears, Legacy Media reporters) who pretend to be loyal conservatives. They will attempt to get you to reveal damaging information about your candidate, your administration, or your media enterprise.

  3. This is for ALL Freepers: Never reveal any personal contact information. Please don’t post (or share in Freepmail) any email accounts, private phone numbers, addresses, or places of employment – unless you really know and trust the person to whom you are revealing these things.

  4. Know that Freepmail can be, and sometimes is, exposed publicly. Please, never say anything in Freepmail that you would not want posted on the public forum. Please, people, add whatever you think might be helpful, and I will post the result as a new article.

Fight fire with fire. Try and do the same to them, starting by having the moderators here exposing the fraudlent reporter accounts for who and what they are.

Fight back the same way even harder. Like Sean Connery says in "The Untouchables"....

"You want to get Capone? OK, here's how you do it. When they come at you with a knife, you pull a gun. When he puts one of your guys in the hospital, put one of his in the morgue. That's how you get Capone."

Although comparing the libbies and dummies to Al Capone is an insult to Don Alfonso.

"I still remember the phrase ''loose lips sink ships''. Anyway, it's a good list."

Is it "loose lips" or "loose lists"?

But perhaps there might be an invitation-only forum for people who are trusted freepers where networking can be done privately?

And who is supposed to determine who is "trusted" and who isn't???

YOU???

Bwahahahaha!!! That's FUNNY Laz!!!

How about making all n00bs read the entire Hobbit Hole series before they're allowed on the News/Activism forum?

Only the good people would survive that....

That poster apparently took the idea and posted it here.

I think NCPAC was compromised from his end.

MD4Bush got his handle probably from someone that knew it and likely from his own office.

They could have got into his computer as well.

No dummie is smart enough to engineer that scam. MD4Bush is likely a freelance reporter.

I guess he is thinking that I am like so many others out there who don't quite know their role or place in the Christian faith and who have to convince themselves that they really are better "Christians"

It's almost unbelievable that "powerful people" need advice like this.

I think the point here is -- especially for us old timers -- that we've been doing this for so long with absolutely no attention being paid to us that now that we are getting scrutinized, we need to remind everybody, not just "powerful people," that this is not the minor leagues anymore.

What about when people present information, and are then challenged by a freeper to prove their statement...we can't just go around saying stuff, without proof, can we?

Those who don't like it - so long as I don't violate our Host's expectations - can kiss 'Ol Rusty.

A perfect example. See, right there you just gave away some information about yourself. ;)

Thanks for this ping. Lately I've been seeing more and more "newbies" (mostly newbies) appearing at first to have a lot of conservative values--and then saying or doing things that make the whole forum look bad. There was a phoney UN scandal "article" (unsourced) recently, just for instance (and it never was sourced either).

The "rumors" (as mentioned in a recent WaPo story) were just part of the problem--things are said on here that you just have KNOW are being quoted elsewhere--that it reaches the network news is not good.

Thanks for the ping. I don't consider myself prominent but I do keep in mind that it would be easy for anyone to figure out my personal ID. I just try not to say anything in freepmail that could get me in trouble.

This is a major issue; I'll apologize for any duplicate pings, but Laz is exactly right -- the left is gunning for us.

Certainly there are some of us who are accustomed to wearing targets on their backs (myself included), but most folks didn't sign on for that treatment. Keep that in mind, and govern yourselves accordingly.

Double-barrelled Mega-PING! to both lists! If you want on, FReepmail me!
