Need Intelligent Freeper Input: Guidelines For Our Prominent Freepers
Source: All of us | 02/11/2005 | By Laz

Posted on 02/11/2005 7:19:23 AM PST by Lazamataz

Recently, two Freepers who have some measure of prominance outside the forum have been damaged by liberals and/or Democrats. Jeff Gannon has resigned as a White House reporter, and the individual who goes by the name NCPAC has left his position in Maryland.

J. Gannon wasn't necessarily damaged by anything he posted here, but NCPAC was damaged by the work of a Democrat mole or a Washington Post reporter who revealed his freepmails.

It should be possible to post on this forum with anonymity and to be able to really discuss what's on your mind without worrying about Democrats trying to ruin your professional life, so, in order to help prominent Republicans who may wish to be an active member of Free Republic, I'm formulating some suggestions that I would like to have new users see.

This is what I have so far, as far as guidelines to help our prominent freepers avoid damage in the future:

If You Are A High-Profile Individual In “Real Life”….

If your daily job is such that you are a high-profile individual – as example, an official in a Republican campaign, or a state official in a Republican administration, or a rightward-leaning reporter – please read this article and take these suggestions.
  1. Please don’t reveal your identity. Please don’t drop hints as to who you are. Please don’t succumb to the temptation to show off a little and thusly compromise your anonymity.

  2. Know that there are Democrat operatives (and now, it appears, Legacy Media reporters) who pretend to be loyal conservatives. They will attempt to get you to reveal damaging information about your candidate, your administration, or your media enterprise.

  3. This is for ALL Freepers: Never reveal any personal contact information. Please don’t post (or share in Freepmail) any email accounts, private phone numbers, addresses, or places of employment – unless you really know and trust the person to whom you are revealing these things.

  4. Know that Freepmail can be, and sometimes is, exposed publicly. Please, never say anything in Freepmail that you would not want posted on the public forum. Please, people, add whatever you think might be helpful, and I will post the result as a new article.

If an invite only sub forum does become reality, it'd be interesting and possibly useful.
I'll stick 'out here' in 'the halls' though.

I'm glad I'm not controversial and never make them mad. Well, except for that Nick Berg thing. And the ENEMY PROFESSOR series. Etc.

Guidelines For Our Prominent Freepers

And this is not a joke and it is not wild speculation and it is not overreacting.

In the last months, due to things that have finally been noticed about FR AND due to new tactics being used by "the dark side," we have basically placed ourselves in the game; with each post, we have become, for all intents and purposes, "players."

Watch what you say out loud; I believe this is a fight to the death for this country; and we all know the depths they are willing to go to.

Thanks for the post and pings. Very worthy of follow-up pings, I agree.

I'm pinging my General Interest, Texas and the Viking Kitty/ZOT list here.

Please check out Lazamataz's post here. Thanks.

And a thousand pardons for any of you already pinged to this thread.

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my General Interest ping list!. . .don't be shy.

I was slogging through the DUmp around election time, and they had posts bragging about firing employees over political views.

You saw THIS one, didn't you? Someone else posted the link the other day on a thread about Jeff Gannon.

MEG33 ... I had my suspicions about MD4BUSH and was all set to jump on someone who said he (assuming the comment about the lib wife was legit) was a good conservative. I traced back through the first few pages of his posting history and found I could agree with most things said. So now I'm not sure. Either way, he screwed up big time by posting those emails and deserves lifetime banning for that error.

While many are dismissing MD4BUSH as a troll, I wonder if it isn't a case of a very indiscriminate poster thinking they had some dynamite stuff on the RATs by way of emails from an obvious insider and they just couldn't help themselves.

Setting aside the argument over whether or not MD4BUSH is a troll, the important point for this thread is that even someone that you believe to be a bona fide conservative can reveal your "private" communications; either deliberately or through ignorance.

Might be a good idea.
Of course, you could make the page so wacky that no-one really knows for sure whether it is reality or a clever red herring for snoops.

It might also be a good idea to take MD4Bush's pattern of conduct into account. It might help people get an idea as to whether some folks are trying to fish for information.

I think that some of my family members have been rendered infertile because of their overt conservative, traditional, and deeply religious personality. ..... there is an obvious evil that is neutering or trying to neuter our procreative nature.

I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids. It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works....

I post my feelings without impunity; attempt to reserve comment when logical. Those who don't like it - so long as I don't violate our Host's expectations - can kiss 'Ol Rusty.

Laz, I incorrectly pinged Howlin to #147, when it should have been to you. My apologies.

Thanks for starting this thread. It's almost unbelievable that "powerful people" need advice like this. I wonder how they got where they are without learning it early on? I learnt such stuff from the School of Hard Knocks.

It's sort of unnerving to think they've climbed the ladder of success without learning such a valuable lesson. I wouldn't call it "Dumb Luck", but I know people who would.

Indeed, a recipient of "inside scoop" might want to impress others as being a player by posting your message. This is the alternative explanation for MD4BUSH's actions.

Then the disclaimer of "Loose Lips Sink Ships" is really what we need to live by on FR.
