Scandal Puts Focus On Role of Bloggers (WaPo on FR, NCPAC and MD4Bush)

The Web site began as a sort of Internet boutique for like-minded conservatives and libertarians, suspicious of federal power and angry at President Bill Clinton.

Started in 1997 by a reclusive California conservative, freerepublic.com saw its membership blossom with Clinton's impeachment and the election of George W. Bush. Attention to the site reached a zenith last fall, when a "freeper" -- the group's moniker for its bloggers -- first discussed flaws in documents CBS News used in a report critical of Bush's National Guard service.

One participant working under the handle MD4BUSH, whose identity is unknown, drew Steffen into a private conversation and appeared to coax him to share more details about his role in spreading the rumor. Copies of those chat room e-mails were later provided to The Washington Post.

The Oct. 18 conversation began with MD4BUSH complimenting Steffen and saying how obvious it was that the rumors about the mayor were true. Steffen, writing under the name NCPAC, replied:

"I don't look for the MO'M [O'Malley] story to hit for a little bit yet. . . . However, a lot of what everyone knows about MO'M is because of work that has occurred. It's been a wild ride."

MD4BUSH later probed further:

"Your saying that my dentist knows [about the rumors] because of work you did? Wow, I must say, I'm impressed. I mean really, everyone knows -- how did that happen?"

One of MD4BUSH's posts used the term Barak Obama bin Ladin..... so I now think this imposter was Ted Kennedy working with the liberal media. =o)

I am sad about Jeff Gannon..mad about this and really steamed they are doing stories on this and ignoring the fact that CBS has never really owned up to what it did and are acting like the Eason Jordan story is nothing.

That combined with the fact that the rumors were actually made public by the compost before the FReepmails were posted on the innocous thread will have the compost editors trying to keep people from knowing that their own reporters created a story where there was none and will have the compost lawyers reading this thread tugging at their bald spots. They won round one. They bagged a GOP staffer. Round two most likely starts when Laura Ingraham takes to the air tomorrow.

By the way MD4Bush, I happen to know that you were using dial-up. Does your mind reel trying to figure out what else is known about you?

Gannnon is a blip on the radar and meant as a cover up for Eason Jordan. I really think Jordan got some oil vouchers from Saddam to cover up a few murders he knew about. The left usually screams loudest about what they themselves are guilty of.

Jordan admitted that CNN purposely spun a pro-Saddam line in their reports from Iraq before he was toppled, they said they did this for the access.

Two incedents in the last week. I think we can safely say that MSM has declared war on FReepers.

Take a look at this speech from Barbara Ehrenreich (http://hereticscorner.typepad.com/the_heretics_corner/politics ) ( well known Feminist/Socialist ) she gave this speech last June. Her speech is a 1/3 of the way down ( June 12, 2004 )
In her speech that she was giving to a woman's collage, she told them to " infiltrate and subvert ( to bring down and destroy ) Christian and Islamic institutions and organizations " First place, how can she equate Christianity with radical Islam ? Anyway, we are seeing a pattern of how the left, the democrats, the MSM, and the feminist are going to try to cause mayhem, and try to bring us Republican/Conservatives down ( because, they can't win on their own merits, or on a even plain ). The Feminist already have their trolls, moles, and plants in our Christian churches, and organizations now, so everyone beware of them. Web sights like FreeRepublic and Power line need to stick together because the other side has their game plan going on now,and are planing their tactics.
