Rush Greeted Like Rock Star
NewsMax ^ | February 9, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 02/09/2005 9:21:23 AM PST by Kaslin

America's top radio talker Rush Limbaugh was greeted like a rock star on Monday during an appearance in San Jose, California, while taking a few days off from his regular broadcast to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.

The packed house at the San Jose Civic Auditorium "welcomed him with a standing ovation," reported the San Jose Mercury News. "There were no hecklers or protesters, and the only shouts were of love for the host," the paper said.

"We are in the midst of a seminal historic shift in this country," Limbaugh told the audience. "The Democrat party and the media have lost their monopoly. They don't rule the roost anymore."

The watershed political moment would have amazed his father, the top talker observed. "If my father could see what's happened today, just the sight of the Democrat party would extend his life by 10 years."

That's one reason conservatives have nothing to fear from Hillary Clinton, he assured those on hand.

Still, the GOP faces a major political problem that can no longer be ignored, he warned. "The Republicans' failure to understand the American people's building rage on illegal immigration" could give rise to a third party candidate, he said, who could tip the 2008 presidential race to the Democrats, much the same way Ross Perot's campaign did in 1992.

Limbaugh also seemed to revise earlier criticism of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for not being conservative enough, telling the audience, "I was wrong."

2,700 people paid $40 a piece to see Limbaugh live. Proceeds from the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a charity Limbaugh has supported since he went national in 1988.

Rush should play golf.

He needs a new career.

Hanoi Kerry has Rush running!

Rush won't even ask him, in 2005,
when he will sign Form 180.

Or why Hanoi Kerry is still in the US Senate.

Or when Hanoi Kerry will set the record straight
on his false testimony in April 71

That's one area I have to disagree. Hillary knows what it takes to win and is willing to do it. Go to Church, moderate her views on abortion and gay marriage, be a military hawk, and a budget cutter. If Hillary ran as Hillary, Rush is right, she would have no chance. But Hillary will be running as a Bush-lite candidate.

Google Search Reporter Thomas Lipscomb

How come Rush never followed up these stories?

When was the LAST time Rush asked where Hanoi Kerry's Form 180 was?

Guess selling merchandise and subscriptions is more important.

He is the instrument that was first used to crack into the leftist media monopoly. Agree or disagree with him, like or dislike his style, I think he's extraordinarily underrated in regard to his impact on the changes in media and politics in general.

"taking a few days off from his regular broadcast to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament."

Being able to play that course would be a big draw for a golfer.

I don't know about anybody else, but I quit watching
Main Stream Right Wing Media
and listening to Main Stream Right Wing Radio
shortly after Nov 3.

I couldn't understand how the so called
Main Stream Right Wing Media
could say things like
"Senator Kerry was gracious in his concession speech..."
"Senator Kerry was so honorable..."
Etc

Is that how you can order a Texan? With drawl or without? ;-)

If Hillary ran as Hillary, Rush is right, she would have no chance. But Hillary will be running as a Bush-lite candidate.

She's despised by both men and women alike, and is incapable of a single spontaneous sentence. In unscripted moments, she makes a fool of herself, and is as convincing as a circus barker. Shrillary is the greatest fundraising tool we have.
