Rush Greeted Like Rock Star
NewsMax ^ | February 9, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 02/09/2005 9:21:23 AM PST by Kaslin

America's top radio talker Rush Limbaugh was greeted like a rock star on Monday during an appearance in San Jose, California, while taking a few days off from his regular broadcast to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.

The packed house at the San Jose Civic Auditorium "welcomed him with a standing ovation," reported the San Jose Mercury News. "There were no hecklers or protesters, and the only shouts were of love for the host," the paper said.

"We are in the midst of a seminal historic shift in this country," Limbaugh told the audience. "The Democrat party and the media have lost their monopoly. They don't rule the roost anymore."

The watershed political moment would have amazed his father, the top talker observed. "If my father could see what's happened today, just the sight of the Democrat party would extend his life by 10 years."

That's one reason conservatives have nothing to fear from Hillary Clinton, he assured those on hand.

Still, the GOP faces a major political problem that can no longer be ignored, he warned. "The Republicans' failure to understand the American people's building rage on illegal immigration" could give rise to a third party candidate, he said, who could tip the 2008 presidential race to the Democrats, much the same way Ross Perot's campaign did in 1992.

Limbaugh also seemed to revise earlier criticism of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for not being conservative enough, telling the audience, "I was wrong."

2,700 people paid $40 a piece to see Limbaugh live. Proceeds from the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a charity Limbaugh has supported since he went national in 1988.

"Rush does not need to waste his time explaining Kerry any further."

Rush needs to explain this to the 58,000 + names on The Wall and why they don't matter.

Col. Geo. "Bud" Day Medal of Honor Vietnam POW 1967-1973 USMC - USA Attorney 1949-2004-

Dear Joe: The major issue in the Swiftboat stories is, and always has been,
what John Kerry did in 1971 after he returned from Vietnam.

Kerry cast a long dark shadow over all Vietnam Veterans with his outright perjury before the Senate concerning atrocities in Vietnam. His stories to the Senate committee were absolute lies.. fabrications.. perjury.. fantasies, with NO substance. That dark shadow has defamed the entire Vietnam War veteran population, and gave "Aid and Comfort" to our enemies..the Vietnamese Communists. Kerry's stories were outright fabrications, and were intended for political gain with the radical left..McGovern, Teddy and Bobby Kennedy followers, Jane Fonda, Tom Hayden, and the radical left who fantasized that George McGovern was going to be elected in 1972. Little wonder that returning soldiers from Vietnam were spit upon and castigated as "baby killers".
A returned war hero said so.

Kerry cut a dashing figure as a war hero, lots of medals, and returned home because of multiple war wounds..even a silver star. His Senate testimony confirmed what every hippie had been chanting on the streets.."Hey hey LBJ..How many kids did you kill today"?????
He obviously was running for political office in 1971.

Until Lt. John O' Neil, himself a Swifboat commander, spoke out before the 1972 elections against Kerry's outright deceptions, there was no one from the Swiftboat scene that could contradict Kerry's self serving lies.

I was a POW of the Vietnamese in Hanoi in 1971, and I am aware that the testimony of John Kerry, the actions of Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden, and the radical left; all caused the commies to conclude that if they hung on..they would win. North Vietnamese General Bui Tin commented that every day the Communist leadership listened to world news over the radio to follow the growth of the anti-war movement. Visits to Hanoi by Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark gave them confidence to hold in the face of battlefield reverses.
The guts of it was that propaganda from the anti-war group was part of their combat strategy.

While the Commies were hanging on, innumerable U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Air Foce members were being killed in combat.

Every battle wound to Americans after Kerry's misdirected testimony is related to Kerry's untruthfulness.

John Kerry contributed to every one of these deaths with his lies about U.S. atrocities in Vietnam.

He likewise defamed the U.S. with our allies and supporters.

His conduct also extended the imprisonment of the Vietnam Prisoners of War, of which I was one.

I am certain of at least one POW death after his testimony,
which might have been prevented with an earlier release of the POWs.

I draw a direct comparison of General Benedict Arnold of the Revolutionary War, to Lieutenant John Kerry. Both went off to war, fought, and then turned against their country. General Arnold crossed over to the British for money and position. John Kerry crossed over to the Vietnamese with his assistance to the anti-war movement, and his direct liason with the Vietnamese diplomats in Paris.
His reward. Political gain. Senator..United States.

My friend I respect and honor your tenacity. The problem you and the rest of us which think that Kerry is a criminal is that with people like Kennedy and the rest of his RAT buddies nothing will ever be done about it. They have stacked the courts and you can't even go that way either. It is better sometimes better to keep a cockroach locked up in a glass tank with a lot of light on him. He will lead a very bad existence.

I tolerate Hedgecock when he's subbing for Rush, but my favorite guest host was always Tony Snow. Liberal kooks always jammed the phones when he was on. Hannity was also good, before he became the second highest rated show behind Maharushie and started hawking his books and kissing up to pols on the air.

A few people have mentioned Chrissy Matthews one time as guest host, and that was definitely the worst. Another one timer who hasn't been mentioned was Tim Russert, and he was actually pretty good.

Two people who have never filled in, but should, are Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter. Talk about slice and dice a RAT!

And .. to add to your list of things - she's to the right on immigration.

Even after her husband did all kinds of illegal stuff to allow illegals to vote for him - here she is supporting stronger border control.

Rush is correct - this could cause a 3rd party - just over the border issue. Sadly .. this was how Perot got his group going and I can see Hillary profiting from such a move by the repubs - just like Bill did.

My favorite Rush-sub hosts are Walter Williams and Tony Snow. Hannity is bright but he is frequently lightweight.

El Rushbo, the Johnny Carson of talk radio. Now I know how my dog feels when I leave for work and why he is so exited when I get home.

We get Hannity after Rush down here, and he's slipped. Still fun to listen to, but the old fire isn't there anymore. He's always so busy pushing his latest book that it's not funny.

But I would subscribe to Rush 24/7 if he ever got Laura or Ann(even better, get both as a tagteam) to guest host, as long as they promised to keep the Dittocam on for the entire 3 hours. ;^)

So a GOP controlled US Senate has no meaning?

Glad I'm a registered Independent that voted for President Bush in 2000 and 2004

You are partially right. The Senate and house are not controlled by the GOP. They both are controlled by RATS with the full help of RINOS when it comes to these type of things. If Government were truly controlled by men and women of conscience this would have been taken care of decades ago.

I can't believe he is harping about illegal immigration again. That is the least of our worries compared to the socialization of America, public school monopolies, oppressive taxes, massive government power and corruption, etc.. etc..

Still, im glad he was treated like a rockstar. I'm a big fan!

Rush won't pursue the truth or call for the traitor to be thrown out of the US Senate,

Kerry is now an ex-wann-be who once tried to run for the presidency and not worth radio airtime.

To address your other accusation regarding the 180, from the day Kerry won the Dem nomination, he was hammered daily on Rush's program without having to focus entirely on Kerry's alleged Vietnam exploits as you would have liked. And for the record, when CBS ran their forged documents hit piece on Bush, Rush did in fact on several occasions ask why Kerry never signed his 180.........

The barrell is full of fish, don't waste precious fishing time focusing on the one with stripes......

Since Rush didn't serve in the military wouldn't it be hypocritical for him to call for Kerry to sign Form 180? Did Thomas Lipscom serve? I found it very hypocritical when Terry McAwful and Fatso Moore who have never served on second in the US Forces accused the president of being AWOL or a deserter.

Two thoughts and the second is more important: First, none of the above actions are hypocritical in the true sense of the word. The Dems you mention indeed sought to deceive and spoke and acted fraudulently, which is slightly different. Second, the calling to accountability by any civilian of ANY government official or branch including the military is exactly what government of, by and for the People is all about. The People are sovereign, under God in this Republic--unless and until we abdicate our rule and role as informed active citizens. Let me say the R word again: this is a REPUBLIC, One Nation, Under GOD.

Your right. Rush has probably done more than any one person to put the GOP where they are today. No one can deny that. Some may not like him but you have to respect him, I can assure you the Democrats fear him. This is the only reason these drug charges have arisen and become public. Obviously Rush caused this harm to himself, but these accusations are politically driven.
