Jeff Gannon
A Voice of the New Media
The voice goes silent.
Because of the attention being paid to me I find it is no longer possible to effectively be a reporter for Talon News. In consideration of the welfare of me and my family I have decided to return to private life.
Thank you to all those who supported me.

And he does the opposite as well, as I just posted.
I think we are too quick to yell "Troll!" nowadays and drive off some posters that we shouldn't. Everyone got in a twist over the initial post when we had no solid information as to what was actually happening to Jeff or why he resigned. The poster in question was attacked for his initial post when it turns out he was correct. His earlier posts are someone inconsistent, but that often is a symptom of youth. So, like the broader story here, I will wait until we see more of this guys's posts as well before passing judgement.

Oh, I'm sure it is, but the guy assumed we all knew about it just by naming it. Funny, MurryMom showed up on that thread, too.

Gannon, by contrast, apparently lied about his background and eduication, looks like he held hinself out as a male prostitute and when confronted, quickly closed up shop after achieving some success at White House briefings. How did he lie about his background? When he he hold himself out to be a male prostitute?

She was good as well. The guy who really stunk up the joint was Charlie Gibson, who would have made Lanny Davis seem balanced by comparision.
Like I said, saying Schieffer is the best guy at CBS is damning with faint praise. But he does have his moments.

With the NCPAC/O'Malley/Ehrlich blowup in Maryland, not a good time for conservatives.LOLOLOL, sure it is. At least they admit mistakes and step aside. More than any dems do. But nice try.

Jesse, do not miss the interview with Wilson linked at post #111 done with a Kos person. She calls him a "truth-speaker".
Of course it's filled with lies.
To: Lazamataz
your finely getting to the point of this post..
what are fair journalistic standards..
what happens when people goof...
are commentators the same as journalists....
should reporters use primary sources and check them vigourously...
media sources from right to left at times practice poor journalism...
what right does the public have to know what's going on with our taxpayer funded government...
what obligation does the government (from clinton to bush) have to be transparent with We the People...
flip around your standards and see if it seems appropriate...
If al franken had a press pass and asked a question based on something whoopi goldberg stated as fact that damaged the pres. I suspect you'd be pissed.
To: Lazamataz
Well, keep an eye on the little dear and see if he slips up. If they are trolls, usually sooner or later they can't take it any longer and explode in a profane ode to Michael Moore. They they're easy to pick off...

Do you think all the other people in the WH Press Corp have such an investigation performed on them? What might that turn up?
It certainly isn't as if any other reporters have been subject to such scrutiny. Yes, "our" side is held to a higher standard. Doesn't it bother you that Jeff essentially pulled a Helen Thomas partisan stunt when he phrased his question?
To: eddie willers
Heck....you're on line....you're caught...why not just pull a MacArthur and fade away?It was a very wierd incident. And a good precautionary tale for internet forums. Always take Reagan's maxim - trust but verify. I've learned to Google anything that seems too good to be true. Much of the time it is.

I do remember; and now that you bring it up, that is EXACTLY what this is.
We shouldn't be dumb enough to think they wouldn't do it again.

Fine. But if I was Admin, this liberal would be out on his ass.Well I guess that illustrates why you're not a Mod.
Nothing personal, Laz. I'd be a pretty poor selection myself.

Doesn't it bother you that Jeff essentially pulled a Helen Thomas partisan stunt when he phrased his question? No. Because he and his organization admitted their bias freely.
To: BibChr
Conversely, to say he sucks is to praise him by faint damn. Especially when the rest of the network blows...
Can I say that, AM?
