Jeff Gannon
A Voice of the New Media
The voice goes silent.
Because of the attention being paid to me I find it is no longer possible to effectively be a reporter for Talon News. In consideration of the welfare of me and my family I have decided to return to private life.
Thank you to all those who supported me.

It's interesting you mention Bill Cosby as a "target of coordinated attacks by the left". I was thinking the same thing yesterday, as I heard about this latest woman coming out saying she was molested by him in some fashion. He admits to having sex with her, but denies any abuse of course. It's interesting though that now, after he's given numerous speeches about how African American culture has taken a downturn, and needs to clean up its act, that we hear about this story. I thought the exact same thing when I heard about it; it sounds like yet another "hit" by our "tolerant lefty friends".
I believe he was scheduled to speak later this week also, wasn't he? Yet another reason to question the timing of this revelation.

my only point is that the SUDDEN resignation of JG seems very odd..
His questioning style has been reported in the MSM for over a year so why quit now?
You don't really believe the homeland security guy from NY who was having simultaneous affairs and speculated mob ties quit because of a nanny issue?
I suspect there is more to this story as there was no reason for JG to quit just because he didn't go to journalism school...
To: Lazamataz
Schieffer managed to annoy Media Matters with this quote back in July:
SCHIEFFER: [to McAuliffe] Don't you have to say more in answer to "What are we gonna do about Iraq?" Don't you have to do more than just say "I'm a Vietnam veteran"? Because he [Kerry] really has laid out no agenda about how to make this situation better than it is.
Can't have Bob telling the truth, eh?
I think Schieffer is better than the rest of the lot over at CBS. I know that's damning with faint praise, but I also think he did the best job of all the moderators during the debates.

I suspect there is more to this story as there was no reason for JG to quit just because he didn't go to journalism school...Why don't you get REALLY liberal, and do like Katie Couric does? You know, the Some Say technique.
"SOME SAY that Jeff Gannon quit for scandalous reasons...."
You are a troll. Period.

I don't know the whole story, but someone pretended to be an old WWII vet. He was lying.Actually, I think it was someone who said he was about to be deployed and was drumming up sympathy. Had a lot of people going until he posted his bona fides and a couple posters looked into them and they didn't make any sense. He finally broke down and confessed, but not before a lot of bad blood went down on FR.

I'll wait for details to come out.

Pancake/bunny. Man, you newbies live in your own echo chamber, don't you?I don't know if tomemerson is a troll or not, this thread has gotten me paranoid. hehe BUT, the NCPAC/O'Malley/Erlich blowup is a real one, and unfortunately it seems, somehting the Sun is running with, like a gleeful little kid that just stole another's scissors.
Story
To: Lazamataz; altura
I don't know the whole story, but someone pretended to be an old WWII vet. That was several years ago, but as I recall, the imposter actually had everybody snookered into believing that he was currently IN the service, stationed in Europe.

From MRC: " What Liberal Media? ¡°People are just stunned. It's such a wacky charge, and a weird way to go about it....I don't know what Bernie was driving at. It just sounds bizarre.ª Schieffer on CBS reporter Bernard Goldberg's eye-catching Wall Street Journal editorial charging a liberal bias at CBS, February 15, 1996 Washington Post."
To: dirtboy
Actually, I think the best moderator was . . . Gwen Iffil. Hugh Hewitt liked her but didn't like
Schieffer. He had a scorecard for each debate (can't find it now) and Gwen came out far better than the rest.

Yikes. That seems fair. Everyone makes mistakes.

I've seen more than one FNC person say "some have said" to smear people.. that tactic is not owned by one group... you know if you flip around the word dem for republican you sound a lot like some on the DU conspiracy crowd.
the buggy guy with blond hair and glasses maybe 50-60 used it a lot during the last election.
To: AmishDude
Gwen surprised me. I was braced for much badness, but she really sliced it down the middle.
