Thanks for the post--too bad it can't be engraved on the
portals of every public school-and teachers college in the
country to raise up a generation of educators that militate against Dewey, and Darwin, and Lenin.

I think that education is most of it.
However, "education" begins at home. It continues on the television (soft porn as the standard, SexInTheCity, MarriedWithChildren, etc.), in the movies (soft porn, filthy language as the standard), children's books, newspapers, music (talentless porn celebs like Madonna and (C)rap "music"), in politics (Clinton's example of Moanica has led to a new thing of pubescent girls fellating boys and insisting that it isn't sex.) in every aspect of our culture.

Parents mold their children by example.
If both parents are there, with one of them home for their children, if BOTH parents practice the same religion and if they are fairly decent, honest, hard working folks, children ususally grow up the same way.

Our children, thanks to men and women who relentlessly pursue drugs, promiscuous sex, pornography (of the lowest caliber), adultery, children out of wedlock and shacking up, have neglected and abandoned our innocent, vulnerable children.
Their relentless pursuit of their own pleasure is selfish, self-centered and based on the relative morality of MeMeMe. Altruism seeems to have died with Jesus or the 1960's.

Blaming education for this is well and good, but the causes of the neglect and abandonment of our children goes far deeped than school. Government simply CANNOT be parents, family, religion (morality) and community.

We need only to look in the mirror for the solution.

I wish Ann Coulter would write her next book on this one. Needs to be brought front and center to the national debate.

We can not have any relegion in schools? well we should not have political socialist dogma either

YUP.

And they are well on track with tons of progress to show for their $10's of millions of Soviet money invested in that goal alone.

It seems to me, that one would have to be willfully blind or blind period to avoid seeing the impact such efforts have had.

Humanists know that the future of our country rests with our children. Therefore, in order to control the future of our country, they must control the minds of our children. And the easiest way to control our children is to control the schools.

Exactly correct.

I was talking with a friend yesterday who once talked about homeschooling his kids. He decided not to homeschool because his kids are now getting some A's and B's. He is incorrectly assuming his kids are getting a good education because they get A's and B's.

I definitely recommend folks read The Underground History of American Education, by John Taylor Gatto. The back cover states:

[It] will take you on a journey into the background, philosophy, psychology, politics, and purposes of compulsion schooling. The most important book about schools you will ever read. It will open your eyes.
That last sentence is very true. It's an eye opener!

We want to give our kids the best possible education, so we homeschool. Not only is the teacher/student ratio superior, but the quality of their education is superior.

Our kids are not getting a partial education - they are getting a very rounded, excellent education, and at 4 and 8-years-old, they are grades ahead of their peers.

And in homeschooling, to summarize John Taylor Gotto, our kids are not indoctrinated from influential groups with complex social agenda aimed at their lives. In homeschooling, we have the best of two very important issues:

  1. We control the quality of their education
  2. We don't have to worry about social agendas and experiments
I'm not trying to step on anybody's toes here...Many folks think they don't have the patience to homeschool, but that's what most everyone thinks at first. Maybe homeschooling isn't for you, but public schooling... your kids deserve better - your kids deserve more than a partial education.

Food for thought...

It's interesting when you look at the history of public education in this country.

When Germany emerged as a unified nation, the Prussian school system was enlarged. As Franz de Hovre wrote in 1917:

The prime fundamental of German education is that it is based on a national principle.... A fundamental feature of German education: education to the State, education for the State, education by the State. The Volksschule is a direct result of a national principle aimed at national unity. The State is the supreme end in view.

and:

As former teacher John Taylor Gatto writes:

A small number of very passionate American ideological leaders visited Prussia in the first half of the 19th century; fell in love with the order, obedience, and efficiency of its education system; and campaigned relentlessly thereafter to bring the Prussian vision to these shores. Prussia's ultimate goal was to unify Germany; the Americans' was to mold hordes of immigrant Catholics to a national consensus based on a northern European cultural model. To do that, children would have to be removed from their parents and from inappropriate cultural influences.

You folks have done a tremendous job bashing and insulting teachers and the school system.

Have you done as much research and amassed the same links to information for the policies in the work place? Have you quit your jobs because your company has policies on harrasment like the schools do? You work from home right?

I'm not talking about companies that condone or embrace same sex benefits, just the liability issue that businesses, like school face if employees harrass or intimidate someone.

All businesses of any size have them you know for fear of being sued?

The question remains....what will your kids do when they encounter a homosexual? Will they go nuts and incur a liability to their employer because their parents couldn't face the fact that such people exist?
