JUST FOR TODAY

As I go through some "troubles" in my own life, I've worked out this "formula" to help me be a useful and happy person. See if it doesn't work for you!

JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life problem at once.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will assume to be true what Abraham Lincoln said: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out. I will do at least two things I don't want to do just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything, and not try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have lt. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a quiet half hour all by myself. During this half hour, I will try and get a better perspective of my life.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give back to me.

He DOES have beautiful plumage.

And he likes a kip on 'is back after a prolonged squack!

I had a Quaker for a time that did the theme song from "The Addams Family".

(She was a rescue and I was keeping her for someone...)

I don't know "The WallMart Song"

(imagine John Cleese)

So far, no.

Mostly he likes to play with toys in his cage and make noise at the crack of dawn, when decent people are still trying to sleep.

HALL, DONALD JOE

Name: Donald Joe Hall
Rank/Branch: E5/US Air Force
Unit:
Date of Birth: 26 March 1937
Home City of Record: Stroud OK
Date of Loss: 06 February 1967
Country of Loss: North Vietnam
Loss Coordinates: 174600N 1054800E (WE847643)
Status (in 1973): Missing in Action
Category: 2
Aircraft/Vehicle/Ground: HH3E
Refno: 0591

Other Personnel in Incident: Patrick H. Wood; Richard A. Kibbey; Lucius L.
Heiskell (all missing)

Source: Compiled by Homecoming II Project 15 March 1991 from one or more of
the following: raw data from U.S. Government agency sources, correspondence
with POW/MIA families, published sources, interviews. Updated by the P.O.W.
NETWORK 1998.

REMARKS:

SYNOPSIS: On February 6, 1967, Capt. Lucius L. Heiskell was a pilot and was
flying an O1F aircraft on a visual reconnaissance mission with another O1F
when his aircraft was struck by enemy fire forcing him to bail out. His
parachute was followed to the ground and voice contact with him indicated
that immediate rescue was not feasible due to enemy troops in the area.

Beeper signals continued and later an HH3E helicopter flown by Maj. Patrick
H. Wood was dispatched to recover Heiskell. He was at this time located near
the border of Laos and North Vietnam about 5 miles from the Mu Gia Pass.
Wood's crew that day included Capt. Richard A. Kibbey and SSgt. Donald J.
Hall.

Heiskell was hoisted aboard, but as the helicopter was departing the area,
it was hit by ground fire causing it to explode and crash. The helicopter
pararescueman survived and was treated for burns. The remainder of the crew,
Hall, Kibbey and Wood, as well as Heiskell, were not located.

When 591 Americans were released in 1973, the crew of the HH3E was not among
them. They were numbered with nearly 3000 Americans who remained missing,
prisoner, or unaccounted for at the end of the war.

Since American involvement in Vietnam ended in 1975, over 10,000 reports
relating to Americans missing, prisoner, or otherwise unaccounted for in
Indochina have been received by the U.S. Government. Many officials, having
examined this largely classified information, have reluctantly concluded
that many Americans are still alive today, held captive by our long-ago
enemy.

Whether Hall and the crew of the HH3E survived the crash of their aircraft
to be captured is not known. It is not known if they might be among those
thought to be still alive today. What is certain, however, is that as long
as even one American remains alive, held against his will, we owe him our
very best efforts to bring him to freedom.

Donald J. Hall was promoted to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant during the
period he was maintained Missing in Action.

Its all rainy here today again and we are stuck in the house :( He has no concept of muddy, and wants out in the yard followed by playing in the house. Ive been thru one muddy towel already.
