JUST FOR TODAY

As I go through some "troubles" in my own life, I've worked out this "formula" to help me be a useful and happy person. See if it doesn't work for you!

JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life problem at once.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will assume to be true what Abraham Lincoln said: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out. I will do at least two things I don't want to do just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything, and not try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have lt. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a quiet half hour all by myself. During this half hour, I will try and get a better perspective of my life.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give back to me.

Lied 'bout his bronze star...and three purple hearts...

No regrets here (Just tired LOL) I don't have brothers or sisters so the younger cousins stand in as nieces and nephews. We're getting ready to start our own clan pretty soon, just want to split Hellifornia first.

Thanks, Ma.

Caitlin will like that.

I will be sure to tell her when she drags her (almost0 teen-age body out of bed, LOL!

(I let her sleep in on weekend)

I am trying to teach Tiki to say, " I love you, Caitlin!"

but so far, no dice.

(If he ever does, it will blow her away, and so far, she doesn't know i am doing this with him...)

He's awfully young, yet.

This is Belief/Bravery/Dedication/Honor....

Meet Marine 1st Sergeant Brad Kasal (in the middle). This photo was taken of 1stSgt. Kasal, whose older brother is a former 82nd Airborne paratrooper serving in Iraq, after the most recent major offensive in Fallujah. 1stSgt. Kasal sacrificed his own safety to save a room full of fellow Marines. Thought it is hard to see from the photograph, 1stSgt. Kasal lost most of his lower right leg after taking several AK rounds.

and for all of us at home.

More.......Re Sgt Kasal....

During the encounter, 1stSgt. Kasal took rounds in the back, which were rendered virtually harmless due to his vest armor. However, he took one round through his buttocks, which passed through both cheeks, leaving four holes in him. And amazingly, he also took the brunt of a grenade blast after jumping on top of one of his younger Marine brothers to shield him from the fire.

More...about Sgt Kasal....because it needs to be said...over & over....

1stSgt. Kasal, who has been recommended for a Medal of Honor for his heroism that day, is already the recipient of several Purple Hearts for previous battles throughout his career, and has turned down more so he could remain with his unit. While in the hospital, 1stSgt. Kasal has met President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and several other celebrities. He said that Bush came in by himself and had a very long, sincere, and friendly visit with him.

"Wine Into Water" Great song. You know he wrote that when he was trying to turn his life around. Took a lot of guts to record it and go public. He deserves a lot of kudos for that.
