The residents of a small Iraqi village have killed five insurgents who had attacked them for voting in last weekend's national elections.
Several other insurgents were also wounded.
The insurgents raided the village of al-Mudhiryah south of Baghdad after warning its inhabitants not to vote in the election.
The villagers fought back, killing five of the insurgents and wounding eight others.
The insurgents' cars were then set alight.
Al-Mudhiryah's tribal sheikh says his people are sick of being threatened by Islamic extremists.

Tragic deaths spur Senator Feinstein to introduce legislation to ban assault weapons in the hands of Iraqi villagers. Senator Dodd decries the cycle of violence. American Psychiatric Association sends grief counselors to DNC headquarters. Jesse Jackson demands that Halliburton pay reparations to the families of the deceased.

This just in:
John F. Kerry, Ted Kennedy and Barbara Boxer have cancelled their fact-finding trip to al-Mudhiryah, Iraq citing fears for their personal safety.
Seems the citizens of al-Mudhiryah aren't only sick and tired of Muslim extremists.
Shalom.

Plus some of them are decrying it as vigilantism.
Really, does it get any better than this?

With Iraqi citizens now going after insurgents and terrorists, I guess Ted Kennedy and Michael Moore had better stay away from that country. Gee.....maybe real Americans might someday find the courage of old and follow the Iraqi plan.

I think I posted here that I wanted to nuke Mecca, send two sidewinders into the dome of the rock, and deal with everyone who had a problem with that. Just proves that God knew what he was doing when he made W President, instead of someone like me (or Gore).

The left will say it is obvious Iraq needs gun control because there are too many vigilantes, nobody needs a gun for self defense, and this is all Bush's fault anyway. Not quite. I'm sure they will insist that at least the "insurgents" need guns for self defense.
