I was doing some surfing at democratic sites and they are all up in arms with Joe about why he would kiss Bush. (I must have missed this last night)

And to top it off, Joe voted for Gonzales today.

Did anyone else see "the kiss"?

I like Joe Lieberman, and I agree with him on many issues. How he could have possibly aligned himself with Al Gore is beyond me...

I don't think America needs to see it's President kiss another man. Made me a little uncomfortable Lieberman or no Lieberman.

I saw it, and I thought.....the President, an affectionate man towards whom he feels affection, was publicly showing his affection for a man who has been 100% behind him in foreign policy....that same man who had run against him in 2000....IMHO, Lieberman deserved such an honor from our President.

As much as the public affection was genuine, it was also, perhaps, an intentional slap in the face of the traitors Kennedy and Kerry and the stupid Rats who put politics before country.

All the pig comments on this thread aside, all of us on the speech thread last night saw the kiss and LOVED IT. I think Lieberman was the only one President Bush kissed like that and it was definitely a real show of love. IN YOUR FACE, DEMOCRATS!!!

I think Lieberman is my favorite Democrat. He actually seems to get it on most issues. I loved when he denounced his fellow Democrats over opposing Rice.

Joe is one of the few from that side of the isle that I think could do a reasonably good job as President.

It would be nice to see him take over the party. One of the things I am afraid of is the Republicans having no strong opposition. Even though I support Republicans, we all know what happens in one party rule.

I think this "kiss" was one of 2 things- either President Bush was saying thank you to Senator Lieberman for standing with him on certain issues, or it was the display of affection between 2 men of deep, albeit different faith in A God of their understanding.

When I saw it, I said, "He just KISSED Joe Lieberman! What a guy!!"

As others have said, he's affectionate, he's comfortable with who he is, and he REALLY appreciates how steadfast Joe's support has been on everything that counts.

As far as I'm concerned, Lieberman has completely redeemed himself for his aberrant behavior when he was running for VP. He's back to being who he really is.

(And he'd better watch his back because there are some really evil people in his party).

Doesn't surprise me at all. Unlike the useless and insincere blather most Democrats put out there to get a media advantage of some sort, Joe Lieberman actually seems to be genuinely extending the olive branch of bi-partisanship to the President.

Between this and his votes on Condi and Alberto, I'm beginning to wonder. You know, I think a man as liberal as Joe on most social and domestic issues and as tough on foreign policy he is could successfully run for election as a Republican in generally liberal Connecticut. Maybe the RNC should start pitching woo, if you know what I mean.

Joe Liberman and Zell Miller are about the only decent democrats left. I saw Bush hug Liberman and I thought at the time that Joe would probably feel a lot of heat. Too bad he's a decent man.

What do they have to be Livid about? Dammit folks like Lieberman are the only reason anyone has even an ounce of respect left for the Democratic party.

Besides I thought all those fruity pro gay marriage enlightened folks would be celebrating a little kiss.
