I have seen him kiss a lot of women who aren't his wife. I saw him hug tightly a teenage girl whose mom was killed in the World Trade Center. I watched him bend over and kiss a wheelchair-bound man on the top of his head. Let's see...I feel uncomfortable about him kissing those women other than Laura...wonder what it means? And that tight hug for that teenage girl...could that indicate the possibility of another Monica? Now the man in the wheelchair...I can't decide if he kissed him on the top of his head because he has a secret thing for men, or because he is attracted to men or people in wheelchairs, or if he is fixatedly drawn to the top of mens' or peoples' heads. But I am worried. It makes me uncomfortable. </sarcasm
Lieberman is Jewish, and frankly, I'm not convinced the country as a whole is ready to elect a Jewish president.

I missed that. I don't allow Dimocrats to spew on my TV set, so when the Dim response came on, I toggled over to TVLand where they had a Brady Bunch Reunion.
However, on my frequent flip-backs to see if they had shut up yet, I did notice that she must have had another facelift. Her eyes look like the headlights of a car, and I'm pretty sure that a woman's eyebrows aren't supposed to arch to the top of her forehead and wander into her scalp.
I saw it and thought it was kinda creepy...
I thought the same thing. That Bush admires the Democrat Lieberman as a great, honest caring-for-America guy.
I saw it, and I thought.....the President, an affectionate man towards whom he feels affection, was publicly showing his affection for a man who has been 100% behind him in foreign policy....that same man who had run against him in 2000....IMHO, Lieberman deserved such an honor from our President.
As much as the public affection was genuine, it was also, perhaps, an intentional slap in the face of the traitors Kennedy and Kerry and the stupid Rats who put politics before country.
Never happen, but what an ass-kicking jump-ship that would be to bring Joe over.
I saw it too. I was hoping someone would find a pic! I have been thinking hte same about Joe for awhile now. He seems to be one of the only Dems with any common sense these days. And I agree, it would never happen, but it sure would be a major ass-kicking jump-ship if Lieberman were to come over to our side! He could easily say the same thing as Zell Miller or Ronald Reagan: I didn't leave the Party, the Party left me" : )
It would be cool...but alas, it'll never happen. Oh well.
I have a vague memory of a Bush story about how he kissed the speaker of the Texas Legislature once saying "If you're gonna screw me, at least I ought to get a kiss" or something like that. Apparently the old guy, quite a famous texas pol, adored Bush after that. Does anyone remember that old story.
That said, it takes a real man, sure of his heterosexuality, to kiss another man. I sort of admire it. It makes me love GWB even more. And I like Lieberman, my favorite dem along with Moynhihan and Caddell.
GO#, even I hope Kerry doesn't catch anything from "Botoxlei".
I wholeheartedly agree.
All the pig comments on this thread aside, all of us on the speech thread last night saw the kiss and LOVED IT. I think Lieberman was the only one President Bush kissed like that and it was definitely a real show of love. IN YOUR FACE, DEMOCRATS!!!
I don't see a hunchback. I see a broken man.
they must be trading botox recipes
It doesn't bother me a bit. I guess that may come from my Russian heritage. Men always kiss hello and goodbye on the cheek..three times at that! ;)
guess you missed Wonkettes post
Us, too. In my community, men kiss and hug each other.
He has not left his party....His party has left him......
and in Texas where I am from...that is a show of respect that is a once in a lifetime event... ....And yes one can get shot for this action should it not be warranted....
how GROOSS to even JOKE like this about our fine President and Joe Liberman. Joe is Jewish. I would think that the President responded in the fashion that most Jews greet each other!!!!!!Jewish men greet each other with a kiss. Our President was being polite!!!!!!!
