I too cannot figure our this contradiction in the DemonRAT party. I have thought about writing Michael Medvedt or Rabbi Daniel Lappin concerning this matter. I do know that irrational thinking is going on with the DemonRATs and it is widespread.

The fear of the Lord: is to hate evil, is the beginning of wisdom, adds length to life, gives a secure fortress, is a fountain of life, and keeps one from sinning. Who would not want the benefits of such respect for God? The Bible does not speak about this fear concerning what happens to Israel. However, because Jews and Christians share these same ideals, it would hurt Christians greatly to see fellow Jews zapped by another extermination scheme. Christians see that the same forces that want to take out Jews are the same ones that will take out them.

I saw the kiss and remarked on it at the time to my husband.

That said, it takes a real man, sure of his heterosexuality, to kiss another man.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read on FR.

*I* sure as hell don't go wandering around kissing men and I am quite secure of my heterosexuality thank you very much!

You have turned cajungirl's point around from the way she stated it, albeit I'm sure with good intentions in making your own point.

She said, to rephrase her point more precisely, that a closet homosexual man would be less likely to kiss another man in public for WHATEVER reason than would a securely heterosexual man. That doesn't mean that strongly heterosexual men have to kiss another man in public to show that they are secure in their heterosexuality. I have no problem with you not kissing a man in public, nor does I'm sure cajungirl. It says nothing to us about your heterosexuality.

She was trying to point out that if the ridiculous insinuation that the President is a closet homosexual were true, he would be less likely to do what he did after the SOTU speech, not more likely. I agree with her, and I do not doubt your heterosexuality for a second just because you would not do what the President did.

The reason Bush can and did kiss Lieberman is because Bush is comfortable in his own skin---he doesn't try to be anyone else. Only a real MAN can do what he does---so nobody EVEN suggest otherwise---

Oh PUHLEEZE!

Thank you for your vote of confidence, but I did not turn around cajungirl's words. I clearly took from what she said that one is only a real man if he acted precisely as Bush did.

I don't care who Bush kisses. Just don't expect me to do the same.

Actually, you did the opposite.

What was said was that only a man secure in his heterosexuality would kiss another man in public........which is a very different thing that saying that every man secure in his heterosexuality kisses other men in public.

You twisted the one and made it into the other.

President Bush is a very secure heterosexual, and thus wasn't worried about what people would say about this gesture.

The vast majority of men, equally secure, would not do so.

That, I believe is all that was being said, so there is no need for anyone else to be defensive about it.

Unless of course, you like being defensive for no reason at all.....

Exactly.

I have met sauropod - as well as hellinahandcart - while counterprotesting the Leftists, so this is partly a personal point I make, but it is even more a general point: Nothing that was said in the original post was said to impune the secure heterosexuality of men who don't kiss other men in public.

It was said to show that if President Bush were not a secure heterosexual, he would have been very unlikely to have kissed a man in public. It is a shame to turn this around and make it something no one meant.

I assure everyone, I meant no such thing and I did not take it that cajungirl did.

The implication was that one is not secure in his heterosexuality unless he did this. I twisted nothing.

No it wasn't. And yes you did.

Calm down, quit being so defensive, and read the words again.

No one's accusing you of being light in the loafers.

I recall the meeting. Good to "see" you.

At this point, it's up to cajungirl to clarify. I don't read the meaning the same way you do. I've made my point so I'm gonna drop it. 'Pod.

Of course you didn't. I agree totally with your premise that if a man is hiding a bisexual lifestyle, he doesn't kiss other men in public.

It was very clear that no one here was saying that men who don't kiss other men are not secure. Most of us on FR are probably men like that, or are married to men who are very heterosexual, and would never think of kissing Joe in front of the cameras.

That's part of what makes this so much fun. The President just doesn't care what anybody says or thinks. It's cool.......and VERY unusual.

I don't think there's any need for cajungirl to clarify this comment.

She said that the President was a real man, and he is. She said nothing about you, or any other man in this comment.

It's very clear.

Paging cajungirl...but if she ever shows up here, I'm certain as I am txrangerette that she will tell you the same as we are about her meaning. I hope you believe it if she does.
