Q: I want to ask you about the Democrat reaction - not all of them, but some of them - Senator Kennedy, Senator Kerry - Senator Kennedy, especially, in a speech recently has called you a liar, called for a timetable for getting out. Senator Kerry, on Meet the Press, Sunday, sought to minimize your election victory, called it small, cautioned against attaching too much significance to the Iraq election. I know some Republicans would say this is a cry of desperation. How would you characterize those remarks?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think Washington is a town where - you get all kinds of expressions here. And I just - I don't take it personally. I think there is - I just let the facts speak for themselves. And the fact of the matter is the Iraq people, in the face of very tough odds, rejected this notion that the - the sense that somehow certain people don't want to be free. They said loud and clear, in the face of terror activities and beheadings and killings and bombings, we want to be free. And that's the only thing that matters, as far as I'm concerned.

What a classy way of saying that Fat Teddy and his opinions are like the U.N. - Irrelevant!!!

One of the most impressive side effects of George W Bush's presidency is that he has made plain to ordinary Americans (many of them who consider themselves "Democrats") just how arrogant and condescending the liberal elite really are. This "stupid Bush" bashing doesn't go down well with rank and file Americans and, after four years of it, it is beginning to backfire. Americans see an honest, straight-talking guy -- who is definitely not dumb -- doing everything he can to do the right thing. And Democrats just bicker and find fault. They have nothing to offer.

That sort of dehumanizing and demonizing is very judgemental and hurtful.

Q: Do you think those remarks encourage the terrorists? I found a quote from Bui Tin, a now retired general in the North Vietnamese army, who told The Wall Street Journal that the North Vietnamese counted on the antiwar movement in the United States at the time as part of their strategy.

THE PRESIDENT: Yes.

Of course it does and even a child would know it.

At first their refusal to see him as anythng other than light in the head was infuriating. I've grown to appreciate their arrogance. Keep misunderestimating him Dems.

It's really quite astounding how the President uses the weaknesses of his enemies against them. Their arrogance and presumption of his stupidity is not something he actively discourages - and then he outsmarts them every time.

I like when he is in the open and talks to media. He may not be a "great communicator" like Reagan was, but he brings a message across. I like how somebody said about the debates with Kerry, that Kerry was very eloquent and spoke artfully with great debating skills, but you have no idea afterward where he really stands. Bush mingled the words, but somehow you have no doubt where he stands.

One of my biggest concerns about this administration is their neglect of communication, especially in the face of opposing media. Bush is in spotlight now, and everybody will hear the message. Unfortunately it will not persist, and MSM will have a free reign unopposed again.

I don't think the President neglects communication; however, he is intelligent enough to realise the media is largely part of the enemy. He knows that everything he says or does is going to be negatively twisted by them.

That's where the New Media comes in. Taking down Dan Rather was a great victory...the pressure must be sustained.
