There is a continuing controversy erupting throughout the United States regarding the teaching of evolution as fact in public schools around the country. During the original Scopes Monkey Trial in 1925, famed lawyer Clarence Darrow argued that denying the right to teach Darwinian evolution violated fundamental academic freedom. Now, some 80 years later, evolutionists argue that their theory should be the only one taught in schools. This issue of the origins of mankind is being decided by the courts. We have developed a comprehensive strategy to address this issue. In the coming weeks, I will be preparing a major editorial that will be released throughout the United States. We will also be filing briefs in these key cases in Georgia and Pennsylvania.
As Lee Strobel notes in his excellent book, The Case for a Creator, increasingly, numbers of scientists are coming to the conclusion that an intelligent creator originated the universe. In fact, scientist Larry Hatfield in a 1979 report in Science Digest noted, Scientists who utterly reject Evolution may be one of our fastest-growing controversial minorities . . . Many of the scientists supporting this position hold impressive credentials in science. There are now literally hundreds of biologists, chemists, zoologists, physicists, anthropologists, molecular and cell biologists, and other scientists who are challenging the theory that Darwinian evolution is supported by all scientific evidence. These individuals hold doctorate degrees from such prestigious universities as Cambridge, Stanford and Cornell....

I'm reading this book right now. My dad highly suggested it, and I pass that suggestion on to you all.
How could one not figure out that an intelilgent creator is responsible for all of this? Do people think it just appeared? Apparently they are not Catholic and don't read the Bible!

This debate is always so interesting. Personally I think God created us and could have used evolution as the tool to do it at His pace. The soul evolves too. I'll have to check back on my thread here after lunch.
"As Lee Strobel notes in his excellent book, The Case for a Creator, increasingly, numbers of scientists are coming to the conclusion that an intelligent creator originated the universe."
Who?
I suggest finding this book. I'm enjoying reading it now.
Well, if you're reading it right now, surely you can give me some of the names of the "increasing number of scientists who are coming to the conclusion that an intelligent creator originated the universe."
Nobody, go back to sleep. All real scientists believe they have mollusks in their family tree somewhere.
Do those scientists also have a theory as to how the intelligent creator came into being?
Agreed. I guess the question is whether anything in natural revelation points in that direction.
I take it you aren't willing to reveal the names of any of these scientists either, eh? It is, for some reason, a very well guarded secret.
I just wonder if the author here is equating "scientists who are coming to the conclusion that an intelligent designer created the universe" with "scientists who utterly reject evolution." Rejection of evolution is certainly not implied by the belief that an intelligent designer created the universe. The two are logically independent of each other. It would be a typical creationist ploy to go straight from a scientist's statement that he believes in intelligent design of the universe to the assumption that he rejects evolution. I know that there are many scientists who accept that the universe was created by an intelligent designer while simultaneously beliving that the diversity of species arose as a result of the process of evolution. Heck, I am one such scientist myself.
Or whether the evidence points in that direction, unless of course you believe that God created all the physical evidence pointing toward evolution in order to deceive us or test our faith.
ID cannot be proven or disproven, you either believe it or you don't. Therefore it is not science, and should not be taught in science classes.
