Nostradamus quatrain 10.72 - deception and fulfillment

Nostradamus success

Most people have heard of Nostradamus, the 16th century “prophet” who was able to “see into the future.”Almost 500 years after his death, Nostradamus´s books are STILL selling, so there are plenty of people who must think Nostradamus was on to something.

Never before in the History of Mankind did so many people expected the furfillment of a prophecy at a given moment as in the month of July 1999, the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 and the end of the millenium.

Nostradamus Prophecies comprise the only piece of literature other than the Bible that has  been continuously in print since 1555.

How Nostradamus did it

All quatrains except 10.72

But how did Nostradamus do it? How could he predict the future? It´s actually pretty easy once you understand what he was doing.

First of all, using one of basic brainwash techniques. The same technique used for example by astrology: a combination of suggestion (THE basic brainwash technique), cryptic description and known facts.

He simply wrote everything in the form of cryptic four line poems (Quatrains)  and let people interpret them after something happened. Here´s an example of one of these poems that some people believe foretells the rise of Hitler…

"Beasts ferocious with hunger will cross the rivers,
The greater part of the battlefield will be against Hister.
Into a cage of iron will the great one be drawn,
When the child of Germany observes nothing."

Now your first impulse after looking at that may be "Histler, Germany, battlefield? Holy moly, he just predicted the Third Reich!" Well "Histler" actually was a region near the Danube river. Beyond that, what else do we have here except a bunch of randomly throw together sentences that could be interpreted a dozen different ways? After the fact, it´s easy to pick one passage out of hundreds in an attempt to prove Nostradamus´s prescience. But look at it like this; could anyone have predicted the rise of Hitler, in say 1920, based on what Nostradamus wrote? Of course, that wouldn´t have been possible. All of Nostradamus's prophecies (except Quatraine 10.72) are meaningless until something has actually happened and you can look at Nostradamus's words retrospectively.

The success of Nostradamus deception reflects the state of the society

Anyone not brainwashed should be able to figure after spending 10 minutes perusing his material.

In order to measure the intensity of brainwash under which a society is and how brainwashed that society is, a good unit is the degree of success of such techniques. Just look at how much horoscopes you find (is there any MSM women magazine without them?) and how many people (especially women) read them ...

The denial of God's intervention reflects the state of the society

Quatraine 10.72 - How Nostradamus did it

This is the only exception to the golden rule of the deception technique described above. A precise date is given: the seventh month of 1999, i.e. anywhere from July 14 through 13 August 1999 in the gregorian calendar that was introduced after Nostradamus wrote

"In the year 1999 and seven months,
From the sky will come a great King of terror.
The great king of Angoumois will be resuscitated
,
Before and after Mars reigns by good fortune."

Four known observations and facts caused Nostradamus in this case to risk giving a precise date:

Prophecy becomes reality ...

At first sight it seems incredible that Quatrain 10.72, the only prediction that Nostradamus ever risked, became true.

In face of the extreme degree of brainwash and the great expectations associated with this prophecy, how can you be surprised that God intervened one more time to help humans, to let the prophecy fulfill in the time frame specified?

... and yet nobody wanted to see it

Still before the end of the millenium, it should be clear how the prophecy was fulfilled. And yet, even today, five and a half years later, I realised that there's still no comprehensive explanation of these events, as you can check for instance with the google search used as URL  to this article.

I'm John Kerry and I approve of this message.

Nostradamus - faithfully flipflopping since the 11th century (or whenever he wrote his treatise on waffling)

I'm not sure what kind of King of Terror came from the sky in 1999. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure if anything happened in 1999 that could be remotely related to this prophecy...can someone explain it to me!

You sir, are a strange one. Not meant as a "slam", because some geniuses throughout history were quite strange. Not sure if you fit into that category though.

You criticize (rightfully, imo) those who ascribe some "mystical" status to Nostradamus, because each one of his "prophecies" aren't really "understood" until AFTER they happen. That's right, I agree. The language in his quatrains are so vague as to not be interpretable until after something happens that SEEMS to fit the event.

Yet, then you go onto say that, "At first sight it seems incredible that Quatrain 10.72, the only prediction that Nostradamus ever risked, became true. "

Then you present as evidence of this a Google search that shows some websites claiming Putin and/or Clinton was this "Great King of Terror". (?)

Why would you do that? You're clearly doing what you criticize others of doing with "Hitler and Hister" earlier in your post! You're just inserting some world event or leader into the vague prophecy AFTER the fact, claiming it as proof! Or ARE you?

Basically my question to you is: what is the point of this post here? Do you, or don't you believe that Nostradamus was a nut and/or fake?

And btw, the eclipse was easily predictable back then. In the 16th century, the time table of eclipses was well known up to and including the 20th century. So that's hardly "proof" of any mystical knowledge.

ok, who's the King of Terror?

In the early 80s, everybody thought that meant Khadafi, and that he would nuke Yew York due to another quatrain. Later, people used this same quatrain to say Nostradamus was talking about 9/11 and Osama.

And there shall in that time be rumours of things going astray, and there will be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base, that has an attachment they will not be there. At this time a friend shall lose his friends's hammer and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before ...

some help

L'an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,
Du ciel viendra un gran Roy d'effrayeur.
Resusciter le grand Roy d'Angolmois.
Avant apres Mars regner par bon heur.

The expression 'du ciel' means 'of/from heaven' or 'of/from the sky'.
No wonder the usual translation associates "A king of terror" with the sky and not with heaven ...

http://www.google.com/search?q=%22From+the+sky+will+come+a+great+King+of+terror%22 - 9 results
but again, that's the effect of suggestion. To start with, people don't come / are not sent from the sky ...

Reminder for the purpose of completeness (no problem finding this information with google).
Since Ericka Cheetham, The Man Who Saw Tomorrow: The Prophecies of Nostradamus, History’s Greatest Psychic (New York: Berkeley Books, 1973):
"Angolmois" was believed to be an anagram of Mongolois (the Mongols) which, historically, could be interpreted as a reference to East, Central Asia, Genghis Khan, etc
Nostradamus used it as part of the cryptic technique explained above - a door to be used for any interpretations.
