TERRI SCHINDLER SCHIAVO FEBRUARY DAILY THREAD 2005: TERRI IS OUR VALENTINE!
Free Republic and various sources | December 30, 2004, January 31, 2005 | Florida Voter

*Michael, HAVE A HEART !!!!!For Valentines Day give Terri back to her MOM & DAD, The Schindlers!!!!!!!!*

The Terri Schindler Schiavo Daily Threads are created month to month as we watch local and national news regarding Terri and her family.

Since Terri's supporters are in every time zone, you may see something FIRST. Please share news with us that you don't see here already. Now, why would you want to do that? Terri's Daily Thread for September/October of 2004 was viewed over 15,000 times. Terri's November Daily Thread was viewed over 6,000 times. December's thread is over 3,000 views. January 2005 Daily Thread was a RECORD HIGH!!!!!!! 15, 103 VIEWS!!!!!!

More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.

Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.

Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.

Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

See Terri's flash movies if you need more information. You can see for yourself that's she's interactive and follows the doctor's instructions.

Visit: http://www.terrisfight.org

NOTE: Terri's December Dailies are noted as a source above. There are lots of important links at the very top of that thread. If you missed Terri's Celebration of Life, you can click on it from there.

AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!

The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.

It's better to write a "letter to the editor" to Florida newspapers, especially if you live in Florida, but if anyone here decides to write a "letter to the editor,"
while you are at it, you can e-mail your lettter to this Catholic diocesan newspaper in Wisconsin, as well.

They published my Terri letter, and another letter I wrote, even though I'm from New York State. Here's the link and my letter. The majority of folks here can write a better letter than I, so go for it.

Terri Schiavo has will to live
To the editor:
Shouldn't Terri Schiavo have the right to live? A counselor by phone used tough love and told Terri to stand up because there are some people that want to kill her. Terri tried desperately to stand up! The fact that Terri survived several starvation attempts (removal of her feeding tube) also shows her will to live.
Terri's dad said that Terri improved greatly with experimental brain surgery and started to talk. Terri would be far, far better today if her husband, Michael, did not stop her therapy. This proves that Terri is not in a vegetative state.
The Florida legislature passed a law called "Terri's Law" which would prohibit starving disabled people by removing their feeding tube. However, a judge overthrew the law so Terri's life is in danger once again. (Also, experts have said that Terri could eat without a feeding tube if she were allowed therapy.)
Please help Terri by visiting http://www.TerrisFight.org/ and click "action item." You don't have to live in Florida to help Terri; you can contact the suggested elected officials on Terri's Web site.

Praying in any way is most important.

Also, God works through us, so we need to pray and take action.

Good idea.

The Southern Baptist denomination is very pro-life, and writing letters to the editor to their publications would generate a lot of prayer and activism for Terri.

You are correct.

Karen Ann Quinlan died June 11, 1985.

Michael was not Catholic. He received a special dispensation to marry Terri after the couple received prenuptial counseling.

I'll be back after "the man" looks this stuff over.

"I was wondering about calling the Bishop in Florida."

"Terri's bishop, Robert N. Lynch of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, has openly stated that the Schindlers should allow Terri to die."

"Terri's family met with Bishop Lynch in his office on two separate occassions. Each time, Lynch said there was nothing he could do. Lynch warned the priests in the diocese not to get involved with Terri's case. Those who have shown support for Terri have been ostracized by Lynch."

I did not know this. So the Bishop in Florida is openly going against the wishes of the Pope. Unbelievable! How terrible.

Then maybe we need to go higher than the Bishop and ask why this Bishop is going against the Pope's teachings and why the American Catholic Church does not censure this Bishop.

The Pope's recent words are very clear on this subject. If this Bishop still believes that Terri should die, he is going against the Pope.

I am very glad to hear the Monsignor Thaddeus (Ted) Malanowski visits Terri every Saturday. Is he allowed to give her Communion?

If Michael were smart, he'd allow it. Then when Terri swallows it, he could proclaim it's "A MIRACLE"--never mind that she could have taken foods orally before had they been given--and he'd have an excuse for any improvement in her condition that might occur if she's given therapy.

Liberal courts interpret the 5th Amendment protection against double jeopardy only in the context of criminal cases in the same level of court (national or state but not both). Terri's execution by George W. Greer is "civil," and therefore exempt from the 5th Amendment. All the good the "Bill of Rights" does her.

Southern Baptists are pro-life at the national (Nashville office) level, but many of the state editors, including TX, are quite liberal. I have never seen the TX state newspaper, for instance, defend Terri at all. "Conservative" TX has one of the most liberal of the Baptist state organizations: TX Baptists do not know that, however.

"Karen Ann Quinlan died June 11, 1985."

It looks like the movie was made in 1977 -- "In the Matter of Karen Ann Quinlan." It seems reasonable to me that a repeat would be on in 1981. Karen Quinlan lived for a long time after she was taken off the ventilator.

"Michael was not Catholic. He received a special dispensation to marry Terri after the couple received prenuptial counseling."

Normally, you don't need a special dispensation to marry a non-Catholic, unless there are special circumstances. There are certain things the nonCatholic must agree to (mainly allow the children to be raised Catholic), but other than that, it is very common for a non-Catholic and Catholic to marry. In order to marry in the Catholic Church, a Catholic must marry someone that is baptized.

The popular Richard A. Gephardt disappeared from the public payroll on Jan. 3, 2005, and I had forgotten all about him. In his early 2004 presidential campaign, he urged the murder of Terri while "campaigning" in FL. He never survived until the FL primary. There have been questions about his ownership of a condo on the NC coast.

"Also, in general the Baptist denomination supports Terri. There was a link to a FL Baptist paper here somewhere, but I can't locate it at the moment.

Baptists are the 2nd largest denomination in the US, and in most of the South they outnumber Catholics."

Definitely good to get all the Churches involved. I think the Catholic Church is mentioned the most here, since Terri is Catholic and because of the Pope's recent teachings.

Some of the other denominations are doing more for Terri than the Catholic Church and I think this is a big shame. It sounds like it is the Bishop of Florida, who is the stumbling block. I did not know this until today.

Also, I believe Judge Greer is Baptist. I would like to see them actively censor Judge Greer.

No, Msgr. Malanowski is not permitted to give Terri Holy Communion orally. She is only permitted to receive Him 'spiritually'.

Terri would have been 17 in 1981, would she not? Or did you mean the movie might have been repeated in 1990 or 1991? I wouldn't think it would be repeated then unless there were some 'propelling event'; networks generally had enough to fill up their airtime by then. Still, it would be interesting to know whether Michael's story is at all plausible. I wonder if there are any television scnedule records in machine-readable form?
