I know Mrs. Cheney was with him in Poland, but she doesn't appear in the Auschwitz photos. Did she go there, do you know?

Now that you mention it, that green is not the most flattering tie I've ever seen. I'm partial to the power red ties.

I have to share this letter my brother wrote and sent to Sean Hannity:

Because America stood firm on the principles and values of liberty we did not give into our fears when our resolve was questioned and our fight became tough. We did not listen to the lofty rhetoric of politicians whose only antidote to victory was to withdraw and walk away. This is because America knows that superficial solutions and empty words alone do not solve the bitterness of hopelessness and despair. We know the struggle for liberty transforms the hearts of nations, and inspires people to choose their own destiny which leads to the evolution of peaceful nations. Our country is living proof that righteousness and moral courage are stronger then cruelty. We’ve been in an exhaustive fight against tyranny and evil since we’ve been a nation, and this resonates in the hearts and minds of people who long for the endless mercy of peace that only freedom can bring.

The breath of freedom gave flight to hope under the wings of democracy today. Our country stood tall against the armies of oppression and the tyranny of hate from outlaw regimes and the threat of terrorism. A new nation is being born out of the armpit of despair and the flame of hope burns brightly today as an entire generation embarks on the endless journey of freedom. The faithful will find and enjoy its inspiring story. The terrorists only have hatred to sell, and their repressive acts of violence are their trademark. This is in stark contrast to the desires of families hoping to develop a future for their children. It is not hard to choose between these two diametrically opposed ideals.

Throughout history mankind’s perpetual attraction to evil has limited our potential as a species. We have learned the restraints of human suffering are temporary against the call of hope and self expression, and realized that the guiding course of democracy is the gateway to peace and prosperity. Individual empowerment and choice always leads to opportunities and inspiration of the human spirit. Iraqi’s are no longer bound by the bondage of slavery and oppression, as they have tasted the refreshing rewards of freedom today - Quenching the thirst of 30 years of hunger and draught in the warm embrace of democracy.

Thank you George W Bush for standing tall and leaving no doubt about our resolve, our intensity for peace, and our relentless pursuit of righteousness and desire for justice in a world that often knows no mercy. Through your determination you lit the candle of liberty today and it flickers brightly in a sea of despair, giving hope to all those who seek its glow and warmth.

Joe

...he certainly has been vocal today.

Too bad he didn't get a bout of laryngitis, sigh.

I love looking at these pics, but I sure am glad that nobody follows me around all day with a camera. I don't stay that spiffy looking all day.

He is looking very dapper

One day he's setting 25 million people free, the next day he's holding the baby of an NBA champ -- quite a life he lives.

The President looks great wearing red ties. After yesterday's momentous events in Iraq, isn't it fun to kick back a bit and kvetch about something as picky as the man's ties. :-)

I have family ( a mother and 8 children) killed in one of the camps.

Can you elaborate on this?

It is incomprehensible what was being done at that camp - the insanity of the evil there. In that bonechilling cold. Thank God for America uniting with Great Britain (and, yes, the Russians there at the end) to end those atrocities. Thank God for America and GReat Britain uniting to end the Iraqi atrocities being done by the butcher Saddam Hussein. Thank God for the courage of our troops and for the courage of the voting Iraqi people.

How awful. It's nice to see so many people pay their respects to those that have suffered. God bless you!
