Giving terrorism the finger!
To: Darkwolf377
I have to go, but want to make a suggestion before I do:
FReepers should start an email effort tonight that encourages every American, every lover of Freedom, to ink their right index finger BLUE tomorrow, as a sign of solidarity with the Iraqi people!

Iraqi citizen 83-year-old Shukria Abdul Kadir, who left Baghdad two years ago, holds up her finger which she has dipped in purple ink to show she has cast her vote in the Iraqi general election - the first time she has ever voted - at a polling station in Wembley, London, January 28, 2005. Iraqis expatriates began voting on Friday in their country's general election, two days before polling takes place in Iraq itself.

Great minds think alike. I just made that suggestion to a recent post.
I'm tempted to ink my middle finger and "salute" the Ted Kennedy crowd.

Great Idea! Is it too early for nominations for the "Best Idea of the Year" awards?
I think giving the terrorist the finger is a great idea for any future Freeps. It would remind everyone of the success in Iraq, and show solidarity with the Iraqis and the President.

I have heard that the middle finger salute (the bird) was started by the British when the french threatened to cut off the middle finger of captured Brits to prevent them from ever using a longbow again. the Brits showed them their middle finger to prove that they were ready and able to fight. maybe someday the blue-finger salute will be used by freedom loving people to show their oppressors that they want a republic and are willing to fight for it.

http://www.giveterrorthefinger.com has been registered and will include a call for all Americans to give terror the finger on January 31. It should be online within hours.

Man enjoying the sweet taste of democracy:
Kadhim Al-Kafaji, of Detroit, left, kisses his stained finger as others hold theirs up after voting in the Iraqi election Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, in Southgate, Mich., near Detroit. The Independent Iraqi Electoral Commission is allowing Iraqi immigrants living in 14 countries to vote by absentee ballot. Overseas voting continues for a third day through Sunday, which is Election Day in Iraq (news - web sites) itself. (AP Photo/Paul Sancya)
