Georgia Flag Vote update
Southern Heritage PAC ^ | Jan 25 | SHPAC

Posted on 01/27/2005 10:15:33 AM PST by DixieOklahoma

Support Georgia's right to have a REAL vote on their state flag... The only vote issued did not include the flag that sparked all the controversay in the first place!.

In addition, only 6% of registered voters showed up at the polls, BECAUSE the real Georgia state flag wasn't included in the referendum!!

There is currently a bill that has just been filed with the Georgia State House to allow the real flag to be included in a statewide vote, as well as the current flag.

No matter your feeling on the flag personally... There SHOULD BE a vote on this state flag. After all it is the people of the state of georgia that the flag represents! Right is right, and the people should have a vote on their stolen state flag.

RINO governor (the liar) Perdue, who will be defeated in his re election attempt in 2006, has vowed that this bill will be killed in comittee.

Lets see that that doesn't happen:

I am a resident of Texas because I lived there before going overseas and Texas has no income tax. If Georgia was governed by real conservatives, then it would have no income tax either like it's neighbors Tennessee and Florida. For a Southern state, Georgia has high taxes, esp. compared to our neighbors who have some of the lowest taxes in the nation. I blame that on Georgians, like you, who are OK with clowns like Sonny instead of fighting for real conservatism as I am suggesting, and of course the pernicious influence of Atlanta.

I only made that disclosure for the sake of full disclosure and to take up for DO. My parents and my brother live in Georgia. There is no way you can tell me I'm not a Georgian. When people ask me where I'm from, I say Georgia. If being a Georgia is dependent on whether I pay my alms to the State there, then you really have bought into the statist lie.

Enough bone fides for you?

Briarpatch...Joel Chandler Harris...Eatonton...yeah I get it.

As I said above, the fact that the forces of evil are OK with the current flag is the reason it must be viewed as a defeat.

Your reference to trailer parks is shameful and very telling. Means as I have said that you have bought into the Yankee lies. One of those lies is that material success is the measure. Everyone can not be rich and live in a Buckhead mansion. Do you have something against the workin' man? That trailer park comment was bigoted and I hope you have the decency to retract it and apologize.

Get back to me when you register to vote in Georgia, okay?

BTW, the "am I a Georgian" comment was aimed at Amelia.

But, sure that is enough bona fides for me. You were raised in Metro Atlanta before it started to Yankeefy.

Problem is, I would expect your attitude from someone who graduated from Lakeside High in 04. Not 1970.

Again your measure of my authenticity is based on a function of the State like voting or paying taxes. Sad. You have clearly bought into the statist lie.

What do the recent polls in Georgia say? Do voters like the new flag? Or do they want a chance to vote upon which design they want as their state flag? Anyone?

Having been born, raised, and still living in Georgia after almost 40 years, I for one like the present flag. I have Confederate soldier descendants, and am very proud of my heritage. I have been to Sons of Confederate Veterans meetings. I know some that are deadset on changing back to the '56 flag.

There are many other more important issues for us to deal with in Georgia, and I wish that these 'flagnuts' would go away. When people find out that I am a 'War between the States' buff, they always think that I also am for changing the flag. Not all of us chew tobacco and do the 'hambone'.

Not at all, but if you're not registered to vote here, it's none of your business what we do and don't vote on here in Georgia.

You worry about what Texas is doing, and those of us registered to vote in Georgia will worry about what goes on in Georgia.

You want to have some say-so in Georgia politics, move back here and register to vote.

I think there might be some sort of "States' Rights" principle behind that concept.

lol, okay sweetheart. you are a pathedic soul who has no respect for principle, if you did, I would debate you.

The word is 'pathetic'......

....but I'm just nitpicking. Georgia government school product.

Clearly you did not read all the thread, which I don't blame you as it is now pretty long, but the there are more important issues sentiment has been addressed at length. I suggest you look back.

Also, your reference to tobacco and the "hambone" is as stereotypical and bigoted as the recent reference to trailer parks. I feel sorry for you. It must be hard going around all the time loathing who you are. Having bought the lie of the enemy.

I thought we did vote for a new flag. I remember a referendum vote during the Presidential Primaries last year.

Yes, I seem to remember casting a vote on this too. I guess that doesn't count with the flagnuts.

I agree I have no right to vote in Georgia, but I am a Georgian, make no mistake about that. And one of the reasons I may be returning is so I can try and make a difference in this epic struggle.

You do wish I would go away. Because I make you recognize the craven cowardliness of your position. No thanks. If I was a flag compromiser I would run away. Since I am not, I will stay and fight on.

You are welcome to your opinion of me, whom you've never met. Being a southerner from Georgia, and having a sense of humor, I can poke fun AT the stereotypes.

As for me 'loathing' who I am, I am quite content with who I am.

And, yes, I DID read the entire thread.

If you'd like to make a difference, you need to be a resident. Because we don't really care what other people think. You ought to know that.

You do wish I would go away. Because I make you recognize the craven cowardliness of your position.

Wow, you think you're a mind reader? If I were you, I wouldn't quit my day job.

No thanks. If I was a flag compromiser I would run away. Since I am not, I will stay and fight on.

Sorry, but until you are able to vote in Georgia, you don't have a dog in this fight.

If you moved to Hungary would you suddenly become a Hungarian? Or would you be an American living in Hungry?

Hence, I am a Georgian residing elsewhere. I am a Georgian because that is where my allegiance lies and where I claim as home. As a Georgian and as a Southerner, I have every reason to be concerned about the flag. Because it is a measure of whether my State is going to give up or fight for what is right. I would prefer my State to fight. And no you are not going to shut me up. Funny thing about us willing to fight. We can't be silenced.

If I MOVED to Virginia, I'm a Virginian.

Sorry, but that's not the way it goes.

If some Yankee from Chicago moves to Atlanta for their job, but says Chicago in response to the question, "Where are you from?" pulls for the Cubs and Bears, insists on telling us how they did it in Chicago, and denigrates Georgians as all "ignorant hicks." That guy is not a Georgian whether he owns property, pays Georgia taxes, and votes in Georgia. He remains a Chicagoan. Where you are from is as much a state of mind as it is a physical residence. If you moved to Virginia and began thinking of yourself as a Virginian, began to have more loyalty to Virginia than your former state, then you would be a Virginian. Not just by changing your residence.
