Arabs Snub U.N. Holocaust Reception
NewsMax ^ | 1/26/05 | Carl Limbacher

Arab U.N. diplomats decided to visibly snub a reception at U.N. headquarters opening an exhibition to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi death camps.

That action contrasted with an earlier session by the U.N. General Assembly where many Arab delegations gave what appeared to be lip service in a GA session to honor those who died and those who survived the campaigns of the Third Reich.

In an unusual move, the White House sent deputy defense secretary Paul Wolfowitz to lead the U.S. delegation. Wolfowitz is said to be on a short list of candidates to succeed John Danforth as U.N. ambassador.

Danforth retired from the U.N. post last week.

The Arab boycott of the U.N. reception was noticeable, especially by several European delegations.

Germany sent its foreign minister, Joscha Fischer, to convey its condolences both at the GA session and the evening reception.

While the Arabs boycotted the reception, others of note did decide to attend.

Among some of the attendees: News Corp Chairman and Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch, New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg, California Congressman Tom Lantos, U.N. chief Kofi Annan, Broadway actor Harvey Fierstein and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Elie Wiesel.

The evening event concluded with the guests singing the Israeli national anthem, "Hatikva," a tribute to all those who perished during World War II.

For Annan, the event had a personal connection. His wife, Nane, is a member of the Swedish Wallenberg family.

It was her uncle Raoul Wallenberg who hid many Jews from Nazi capture during the second world war.

Hopefully, Israel will remind all of their Arab "neighbors" about this disgusting behavior the next time they disgrace the Jihadists in battle.

I'm sure the reception was enhanced by the absence of 'girlie men.'

Of course! That is how the Mohammedan mind operates. I am not surprised at all... let's not forget that these people have a religion that is nothing but vitriol and nonsense from a Pedophile.

This is simultaneously disappointing but not the least bit surprising. These Muslims cannot even pause to acknowledge the slaughter of six million human beings. Their hatred must must have no limits.

Don't worry - one of the sites of their great successes would be far more appropriate. Top candidates include Somolia, Rwanda, Burundi, and Sudan.

Hey, there's a bright side to this story. The Arab delegation was in proximity of the Jewish delegation (and other infidels), and the Arabs didn't kidnap or kill anyone.

I call that progress. A good thing (if it lasts).

I suspect the real reason they failed to show was that they were angry, embarrassed and ashamed that they weren't the ones that did the killing.

The real gem in this article is this:

"Wolfowitz is said to be on a short list of candidates to succeed John Danforth as U.N. ambassador."

Paul Wolfowitz as Ambassador to the UN?

I can't imagine a bigger "FU" from the Bush Administration to the UN than appointing Paul Wolfowitz ambassador.

I really, really hope that Newsmax got this one right.
