As the Senate Judiciary Committee voted today on the nomination of Alberto Gonzales for Attorney General, we hear a speech by investigative reporter Seymour Hersh on torture from Guantanamo to Abu Gharib to Vietnam.
Hersh is the author of 'Chain of Command: The Road from 9/11 to Abu Gharib.' He spoke last month at the Wise Free Synagogue in New York.
'The amazing thing is that we have been taken over by a cult of eight or nine neo-conservatives that have somehow grapped the government.'
'Just how and why they did it so efficiently, we will have to wait for much later hsitorians and better documentation than we have now, but they managed to overcome the bureaucracy, Congress, the press, with the greatest of ease.'
'You do have to wonder what a Democracy is when is comes down to a few men in the Pentagon and a few men in the White House having their way.'

"Just how and why they did it so efficiently, we will have to wait for much later hsitorians and better documentation than we have now, but they managed to overcome the bureaucracy, Congress, the press, with the greatest of ease.'"
I had thought Hersch saw himself as overcoming the bureaucracy. His comment is telling, suggesting his information from whatever faction in the govt. is weak.
His Vietnamization of his argument is near Kerry-esque.
Dear Seymour: When you get a majority of the electorate on your side, then you can run the government. It's not a cult, it's the government the U.S. public voted for.
Thank you very much for the link. He sounds like a raving lunatic.
Let us not be hasty negative reactions on this "cult" deal. Cults are protected by the ACLU. Some cults sanction human sacrifice. As an "investigative reporter", I'll bet Seymour would love to infiltrate a secret cult meeting...
How can anyone consider him an objective reporter after stuff like this.
I mean anyone who goes into maniacal rantburg like this should not be trusted to produce articles for the mainstream press.
If you think about it, if the Iranians believed what he wrote last week, that could start a devasting war.
Shouldn't he be locked for national security or something?
Gonzales is anti 2nd amendment and pro abortion...heck you'd think the anti America
of our founders...would be happy to confrim him...
sheesh...
You just know the Left must be aching to embrace the Icke theory that the Bush family is infused with lizard blood down from outer space! |
His principle purpose in life is to dig up crap to fling at the Bush administration or any conservative in power.
"His Vietnamization of his argument is near Kerry-esque."
Did Hersh mention that he reported in Vietnam? :-)
So the majority of Americans (those who twice voted for Bush! and for republicans in Congress since Newt's Reformation in 1994) DID manage to overcome the bureaucracy, the PRESS, and the (lying democrats in) Congress.
Despite those times when the press TRIED to lead us in a different direction?
So, he's admitting the press IS deliberately against conservatives in general, and Bush in particular!
And, by the way, he's absolutely REJECTING the majority of Americans who recognized the democrats lies for what they are.
Now, be honest. You drank from the Cup of Scully didn't you? Oh yeah . . . |
Cup of Skully....hmmmm...I am in that line but she's gonna slap me cause I ain't puckering up for nuttin'...
tell Hersh to mention it at the next Bohemian Grove.
I agree. If Hersh really had information about secret operations in Iran, shouldn't he have kept it quiet?
Looks like he found his niche.
Ah Seymour, you should have read my longtime tag line. - Tom
Great graphic ~ Bump!
"grabbed"?
For a bunch of supposed important journalists they sure don't know how to spell.
