We invite and request your prayers every day this week for the Iraqi elections on Sunday. This is a pivotal event in World history, and a vitally important one for our country and administration as well. Please pray for the safety of all those, including our brave military, who are putting themselves at risk to make this election happen.
Pray for a huge turnout, and that Iraqi voters are kept safe from those who would intimidate and frighten in order to perpetuate their evil.
I feel absolutely certain that our President is praying about this event and for his brave soldiers daily. While he probably would not choose to call publicly for prayer, I feel that he would be overjoyed and strengthened to have Americans and people of faith all over the world join him in this.
Please pass this along to others that you know who would like to informally join us in this prayer vigil.
Thread started for a prayer vigil for the Iraqi elections. I'm sure many would enjoy reading and joining you in prayers you might post here this week. Please also keep this momentous event in your thoughts and prayers continuously throughout your daily activities.
Please invite others to join in this prayer vigil, and to post their prayers here as they see fit.
Thanks, Just. I've been doing this- posting prayers for the upcoming election the past few days on the ATRW thread, so will be happy to come here also.
Along with raising our voice in public matters in support of our troops and the Iraqi people seeking freedom, along with being active in the political discourse so as to influence things for the good, there is NOTHING more important or powerful that we can do in these matters than pray in faith, nothing waivering, for God's will and His good purposes to be revealed and fulfilled.
We so pray this day, that it will be so in Iraq. That liberty and freedom may break forth their so that God's children in that portion of the vineyard may have the opportunity to, of their own free will and choice, come to better know Him.
A wise and famous man once said this...
If you stand for liberty, you stand with God. And if the whole world should stand against you, you would still stand with God."
Such it is.
Thank you, Molly. We invite you to join us in prayer every day.
Thanks for the ping guy.

What a wonderful post and quote, Jeff Head. Thank you for your prayers and for pinging others to this vigil.
I'll be praying.
Last Sunday, our congregation added the Iraqi elections, and especially the safety of our troops during this dangerous time, to our prayer list. It's a good thing to remember.
I'll be a prayin!
Excellent idea. I'm in.
Godspeed to all involved in fighting terrorism.
Amen, Diva Betsy Ross, to your wonderful prayer.
Read: Galatians 5:22-26
Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man? Proverbs 20:6
Bible In One Year: Job 35-37
We are often disappointed by the unfaithfulness of people. A family member promises to write, but months go by without a letter. A pastor says he will visit when we are sick, but he doesn't make it to the hospital or to our home. A friend agrees to be there for us in our bereavement but doesn't even call. Others tell us they will pray for us but quickly forget our need. Someone promises to do an important task for us but never follows through. We ask ourselves, "Who can find a faithful man?" (Proverbs 20:6).
We can do very little about the unfaithfulness of others. But we can do a lot about our faithfulness to others. When we make a promise we must keep it. When we tell someone we will pray for them, we need to follow through and do it. When we proclaim our loyalty and love for others, we can do little things that show them we mean it.
The apostle Paul said that one fruit of the Spirit is faithfulness (Galatians 5:22). God will create in us a steadfast spirit if we take seriously what we tell others we will do for them, and if we follow through.
Ask God to make you a person whom others can count ona person who is tried and true. David Roper

I will pray for these elections..........
I pray, with every breath for our Military and President now!
Adding this is a delight and pleasing to the Lord.
For He has a great multitude of people in every tongue and all tribes, all peoples and nations. Praise be to Him! Rev.7:9.
Not only do I pray for the elections................
I pray for the souls of men, who are to be saved.
May God's will be done!
Ping to self.
