I grew up in a a town even smaller the Melbourne!..We had a seat out on a tree limb that should have broken now that I consider it was a Chinaberry tree..but we survived..

I wasn't the only girl..just the oldest among a bunch of much older boys who considered me useless. I seem to recall twice getting the wind knocked out of me when trying to play ball!

It seems like such a simple,safe and innocent time and it was the depression and then the war.
