A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Oh, Lakeside, I've missed you, and didn't hear about the trip to see your son and his wife and precious granddaughter.
As for ,
at 8 and 9 I didn't look like her, but I really DID have the huge pithecolobium tree and tree house on a platform, with thick sturdy vines for swinging down.
(It was glorious to be the only little girl in the neighborhood and not have to share the role..:))

So glad I just happened to stop by to check on the Finest!
What a darling and much deserved tribute to our dear LadyX!
I may not get here as often as I'd like but I think of you all very often. My darling Richard has been having a health problem but he's making a good recovery. Please keep him in your prayers.
With hugs to all the Finest!

"dansy...we'll be in Mebourne and thought maybe we could connect but have a very tight schedule." How I wish you had seen Melbourne when I moved there in November 1943!
No way you would recognize it, with about 5,000 residents, and the now Ruth Henegar Art Center on New Haven Avenue was where I spent grades 4 through 6 in the middle building, and 7 through 12 in the one on the east end. The 3rd one housed the cafeteria and storage.)
ALL students from the Sebastian River to halfway to Cocoa, and west to the St. John's River went to that one school!
Our school song went: "On the city's western border --" -- LOL
Ruth Henegar was my 9th grade Algebra teacher, and later, the high school principal!

What a great thread today!
I'm sadly out of the loop, where IS LadyX?
I heard a rumor about her working on a film in Japan, but I thought it was a lot of hooey!

Diver Dave, you are everyone's **anchor** while we plow through the stormy **seas** of life..:)) Well I don't know about that, Auntie M, but I do know this...
...My Anchor Holds
and Grips the Solid Rock
His Name is Jesus
Yes, He's the One
His Name is Jesus
the only One
Be Very sure
be very sure
Your Anchor Holds
and Grips the Solid Rock
Now, it is my prayer that the tune and words will fill the minds and hearts of all who visit the Finest.
Also want to again tell you how much I enjoyed our chat last month. Let's do it again soon.

Thank you for posting that photograph from Christmas Day 1956 with my two sweet little boys, then 2 1/2and 1 1/2!!
That Bigger Boy, Steve, was here at Christmas -- the Younger Boy, Kevin, will be here this Friday for the weekend, along with their Little Sister and Family.
By the way, that dress was red and black-striped taffeta, once my sister Carolyn's long Christmas Dance dress in 1946...I inherited it and made the hem midcalf length, just right for Christmas Day...
