Yes folks, I know it's a couple of hours away, but for you loyal C-Span listeners, the debate will be carried live on C-Span 2 today. Live streaming on C-Span 2's server for those of you with high bandwidth carriers.
Box-o-Rox has asked for a full hour in which to call Dr. Rice a lying slut. Meantime, the senior Senator from the state of West Virginia has brought some friends of his down to testify to Rice's unfitness for her office:
Other Dhimmis have asked for time to object to Dr. Rice as well. Meantime, I wonder if McCain or Hagel will actually rise to her defense?
(...sound of crickets...)
Arlen Specter? Anybody?
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Are there any Republican Senators that have a fire in their bellies any more?
To: Dashing Dasher
Please tell me John Warner is standing up to this monkey charade.

"You may want to drop him a line and remind him we're at war." Precisely. It's a bit difficult to argue for the principle of politics ending at the water's edge, when you have YOUR OWN SIDE pouring fuel on the flames.
To: Txsleuth
Agreed. We have to give him credit for trying to stem the nonsense tide.

About, Allen, I was listening and he was trying to answer some of the idiotic statements that had been made by the dems---therefore, it was obviously hastily written to get their crap in his speech. I think we should give him some slack for that reason--I agree and I said the same thing. He wasn't delivering a prepared speech like Byrd and Boxer, but responding to Democratic attacks.
I'd like him to run in the future, too. Failing that, I'd consider moving to Virginia.

I can't tell, he's about to put me to sleep.

"great deliberative body," ...
Exposure is certainly having a negative impact on how we perceive Congress and governmental bodies. We now have the ability to watch how they waste time, flounder and preen before cameras under the pretense of doing the people's business.
The same Congress critters who demanded implementation of the 911 Circus of Commissars recommendations are not heeding the recommendations that Congress: get to work and streamline the processing of appointments.

Not the world's most riveting orator, I take it.

Please tell me John Warner is standing up to this monkey charade. He did a good job in limiting his praise of how Biden behaved himself during the committee smearings.

Thank you very much for refresing our memories about his Civil Rights filibuster---
Why haven't the Congressional Black Caucus run him out?

I can't tell, he's about to put me to sleep.LOL. He's doing this in the old style senatorial way. Quiet and understated, but really more in the line of the "great debating society". Just making his points for the President's policy, one by one, drip, drip, drip. But he knows how to get from point a to point b.
To: JustaCowgirl
He started out well, saying Dems bucked tradition by not confirming Condie on Inauguration Day. Drifted for a while but is rounding into fine, if sedate, form now. Listing Sadaam's crimes.
To: Txsleuth
Easy because he is a DEMOCRATE!!
To: JustaCowgirl
He's doing ok, but his voice is so monotone, he needs a little fire up his keyster.
To: mystery-ak
Is that why Liz divorced him? lol
To: syriacus
Warner doing a good job of relating ways in which Hussein was a rotten world leader. Mentioning Clinton's words, in 1998, about using force against Saddam.
