'Catwoman,' Bush Earn Razzie 'Dishonors' (liberal H'wood calls Bush cabinet "bad actors" over Iraq)

President Bush and some of his advisers received worst-acting nominations for their appearances in news and archival footage in Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11," which assails Bush for his actions surrounding the Sept. 11 attacks.

Bush was nominated for worst actor, while Secretary of State-designate Condoleezza Rice got a nomination for worst supporting actress and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for worst supporting actor.

Wilson said that while "Fahrenheit 9/11" was a piece of anti-Bush propaganda, the president and his associates earned their Razzie nominations on their own.

"It wasn't Mr. Moore's editing," Wilson said. "It's the raw footage of these people just making fools of themselves."

Selected by about 500 members of the Golden Raspberry Foundation, Razzie nominations were released a day before the Academy Awards nominations come out. Razzie winners will be announced Feb. 26, a day before the Oscars.

Liberal Hollywood strikes again.

You'll note the nominations aren't for the lack of quality in the film itself, but an insinuation that the President and his cabinet were "acting" when they told us about Iraq, etc.

Liberal Hollywood strikes again.

I like to read the in-house editorials of the Minneapolis Star and Tribune as sort of a reaffirmation of my own views on any subject. The more hysterical the editors are, the better I know conservative ideas really are. The same applies to politicos.

I think you can have the same take on "Hollywood's" take on any person or issue.

"Liberal Hollywood strikes again."

Amen. Sounds like "hate speech" to me from that crowd. Of course, Hollywood is incapable of "hate speech" because they get to define what it is. The degenerate dirtballs.

No Hollywood here. The Razzies are given out by an Artesia, CA based group that has become famous because they make fun of Hollywood.

My position on Hollywood is that I will occaisionally pay to see one of their movies, I really don't give a dump what their opinion is on anything political. Just because you can do a movie doesn't mean you know anything else.

I'd turn this around on the demented Hollywood minstrels.

An actor, by definition, is a person whose livelihood is based solely on their ability to assume a false persona and recites words and ideas scripted by other people. The last person I would ever want in a position of leadership is an actor, because actors are nothing more than living puppets.

Therefore, to suggest that a politician is a "bad actor" would be the ultimate complement: it means that that person is genuine and has a mind or his own.

It's sad that so few people--particularly in this country--have the capacity to understand that entertainers and performers are nothing more than that: purveyors of fantasy. People should enjoy them for their on-screen make-believe role-playing, but ignore them in the real world.

(By contrast, when I first traveled to the then-recently-fallen Soviet Union back in 1991, Yuri Gagarin was still hailed by the Russian people as a national hero. That was their idea of a "celebrity." Thirty years after his pioneering achievement, you could still go to any street vendor selling watches, t-shirts, and other "pop icon" memorabilia and find Gagarin's name and likeness on the merchandise. I'd wager that 90+% of our citizens couldn't even name the first American in space, let alone tell you who Gagarin was and how he earned his place in world history.)

Alan Shephard right? :-) But seriously the Razzies aren't given out by actors or Hollywood at all. It's a group of wannabee film critics.

You need to post a pic of Halle Berry in her scanty Catwoman outfit to heal this thread!

Alan Shephard right?

Close. Alan Shepard (Jr.).

As for the Razzies, I couldn't really care if they were given out by actors or "actor-fawners": they're part of the same self-adoring Hollywood fantasy world.

The Golden Razzie Foundation makes fun of Hollywood. They aren't much different from any other group who laughs at bad movies.
