After accusing Secretary of State nominee Condoleezza Rice of trafficking in "falsehoods" during hearings last week before the Sen. Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. Barbara Boxer is the new hero of the Howard Dean-Michael Moore wing of the Democratic Party.
However it appears that Boxer may have indulged in a few falsehoods of her own while questioning Dr. Rice.
To justify her tough grilling, the Golden State Democrat repeatedly invoked war casualties from her home state, saying they amounted to 25 percent of the 1,400 GI's killed in the fighting. But after checking with the website Casualties.org, OpinionJournal.com says that's not true. "The number of California servicemen who've died is 157, which is about 11.5% of the total, less than half the proportion Boxer claimed," they noted.
The Marin County demagogue also had her facts wrong when she claimed her fellow Senators voted to authorize the Iraq war based solely on Bush administration claims about weapons of mass destruction.
In fact, the Senate's Iraq war resolution also cited Saddam's "brutal repression of its civilian population thereby threatening international peace and security in the region," and its refusal "to release, repatriate, or account for non-Iraqi citizens wrongfully detained by Iraq, including an American serviceman, and by failing to return property wrongfully seized by Iraq from Kuwait."
Of course she "fudged the numbers". Remember she intentionally "fudged" over 400 checks at the house bank. Calif. is represented by a professional check counter, whereas Mass. is represented by the killer of Mary Jo Kopechne, as well as the traitor and collaborator John Kerry.
But all of them are democrats, and the word democrat means the same thing as communist.
yep it's 1400 +/- total deaths including normal illness, traffic accidents, just plain traditional work accidents and combat deaths.
But are the voters in CA ready to stand up like the voters of SD and say "ENOUGH!"?
First, we have to make sure that there's an HONEST vote in CA, only ELIGIBLE voters instead of the Democratic CORE: felons and illegal aliens.
Very good.
Boxer is a shrill, piece of hate-America filth. She is a disgrace and it is sad that CA just gave her another term.
Shocked, I tellya. BTW, love your graphic!
Including deaths in Germany and Kuwait (if you were "deployed" in Iraq and died, the left added you to "the list", there is no government list of the dead).
The most extreme example is a woman who died while crossing the highway in Kansas. "Bush lied, people died" just does not ring true.
The Washington Post list does not include the woman who died while crossing the highway but it did include a man who died of a forklift accident in Kuwait from the same week.
Michael Moore had a flunky interview a soldier who lost several limbs in an explosion for F911. I have not seen the film or the interview but I have seen FahrenHYPE 911 which has a followup interview with the same soldier denouncing Mr. Moore's inclusion of the interview in his film. The explosion was caused when a tire was overinflated. Now it is a tragedy that one man lost his life and that another lost his limbs but it was not as if this couldn't have happened on any military base anywhere in the world.
Sort of like the left's poster boy veteran who "lost limbs" in Vietnam playing with a handgrenade (and acting as if he was more of a hero than George W. Bush who stayed stateside).
The left does not care about these people, only their deaths as statistics that they can use to beat up on the president. Remember, Bill Clinton loathed the military (his word) and you can bet that many on the left share the sentiment.
"Feinstein is not that bad compared to her."
Not really, just less shrill. Feinstein may be more of a threat to our rights...
I hope they both get the Puffster treatment!
Fits so welldoesn't it?
Not with the ratio of voters registered in California, I'm afraid....in fact, she's purported to have the safest seat in the Senate, hence the ability for her to safely perform her antics.
Are they talking about personnel based in CA or born in CA?
I know Camp Pendleton has the largest number of USMC losses.
well I guess what I meant is that I don't mind someone who doesn't agree with me (Feinstein) nearly as much as I cant' stand those that use invectives and intolerance like Boxer and that goes for some extremists here as well......
I would think personnel from CA units but then I'm retired military and that's the way I think. Botox Box-Cutter? Who knows how she thinks or if she thinks before opening her pie hole.
Demos!
