Today, as we witness the powerful demonstration of our Democracy, let us also be thankful for FreeRepublic.
It's early in the day, and I'm already defending our President, country and the ceremony to the hate-Bush crowd. With their loud, obnoxious voices, they will try to shout over our freedom-loving celebration. The Blame-America-First losers will attempt to amplify their puny voices by feeding off each other. They are so hate-filled, they can't even celebrate the greatness of our country during a pinnacle event as this.
It is fair to judge a person on how they act when they don't get their way. In four years, the democrats haven't learned that their shrill, nasty attacks can't negate the good of Bush and a positive, hope-filled electorate. That is why they remain losers.
Thank you, to all Freepers, site administrators and everyone involved in FreeRepublic. This is a place to find solidarity and I am grateful for the companionship - especially today!
It is a good day to take a small sliver of credit for the re-election of GWB. Congrats to all!
Good comments.
I guess it was OK for us to sit still while Clinton turned the WH into a sewer and a national joke (international joke)for 8 years....but it's not OK for the majority to celebrate the re election of a strong, clean living, AMERICAN who believes in his country and his oath. At least THIS inauguration we will not have an outgoing, dishonored president (who never respected the military anyway) out at some air base reviewing troops whose lives, service and traditions he does not comprehend and could care less about. We will be spared THAT embarrassment and ignominious behavior this time!
It is a good day for thanks to FR.
They are so hate-filled, they can't even celebrate the greatness of our country during a pinnacle event as this.
They are a nasty bunch, all right. As my dad used to say...."Ever since Cain and Abel...."
BTW, I sent a check to a local charity yesterday and wrote on the check's "memo" line..."In honor of George Bush's Re-Inauguration."
I plan on doing the same thing on my checks to other charitable groups that I write in the near future.
Last night on Brit Hume FR was mentioned on the grapevine as counterbalancing the ANSWER protesters, along with Protest Warrior.
I hope to see someone carrying this sign today!
yes
It's a great feeling to be a small part of such a great movement. Free Republic will continue to be a force to be reckoned with for a very, very long time. Thanks, JR.
Actually, Free Republic made a surprisingly huge contribution to the re-election of President Bush. Remember that famous post by Buckhead that kicked off the investigation by the blogosphere of the now-fake memos CBS News tried to foister on the unsuspecting American public? With the result that heavily blunted the effect of the mainstream press in their attempt to defeat President Bush?
Michelle Malkin: -- Questions about the documents' authenticity were first raised last week on the indispensible conservative Internet forum, FreeRepublic.com, then amplified and supplemented by the intrepid independent bloggers of Powerline, Little Green Footballs, INDC Journal and Allahpundit."
But I think the greatest impetus that FR created in getting the President elected was FR's incredible and staunch support for the Swifties. The Swift Vets raised tens of millions of dollars after this website stood with them in the early days in March and FR contributed to them in bountiful amounts. The Swifties spent that money very wisely!
The Swifties brought down John 'I Don't Fall Down' Kerry, and FR held up the Swifties.
And, I know that many of FR's posters worked incredibly hard on the grass-roots level to get out the vote in their specific towns and cities. The Rathergate exposure was icing on the keg........ oh, cake! ;-)
This is a day for pride all around this site.
I joined late in the game (in the publicity crush that erupted around RatherGate), so I feel I should join those issuing thanks, rather than accepting it.
So here's to FR! (Hoisting a cup of water, since I'm at work).
I remember earlier days when not so many forums were available. It was during the Clinton unera. We used emails and whatever forums were open back then to motivate the Repubs to impeach. Impeach they did. Most of us never believed he would go down, but forever attached to him name is the 'IMPEACHED' label.
Now we have so many more opportunities. Never have I been prouder than when the bloggers (the modern defenders of true free speech) brought down Dan Rather. Keep up the great and essential work
I joined late as well, so I extend my thanks too!! FReepers are amazing!!
Great idea! I love it!! Thank you Free Republic -- I have found a home and an extended family of a great group of people!! God Bless George W. Bush!
DITTOS to that, and worth repeating, me too!!!
