All systems are go for the D.C. Chapter's American Sector on the Inaugural Parade route.
The weather is cold, but warmer than the past few days. The sun is peaking through the clouds. Snow covers the sidewalks, but Pennsylvania Avenue has been cleared.
The barricades are up everywhere. Small groups of people are walking around checking things out.
I did a recon last night with BufordP after the Freeper dinner. ANSWER has their bleachers set up on John Marshall Plaza at the starting point for the parade at 4th St. and Pennsylvania Ave. They also have a stage and speaker risers right on the sidewalk at Pennsylvania Ave.
For all their wailing about the Presidential Inaugural Committee denying the public access to the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave., ANSWER has taken up most of the sidewalk space themselves with their stage and sound equipment, thereby denying their own people access to the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave. I hope the courts take that hypocriscy into account if their case is appealed.
Snow covered most of the American Sector last night. For those not sure where we'll be today, here's the info:
The northeast corner of 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Look for Freepers wearing white Pajama Patrol badge t-shirts with the word 'Marshal' in red letters on the back.
We'll be there from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. We'll have a rally from 10:30 to 11:30. After that, we'll line the parade route in our permitted area on the same block, just a few feet down on the north side of the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
We'll be calling in updates throughout the day.
Not sure which way the cameras are pointing.
Also, see above reports that there is along line for the security check-in.
Maybe the tents at 7th and Independence are the security checkpoints, like they had at the Reagan Library. It looks so cold there, I hope Kristinn, Rabidralph and all are sufficiently bundled up.
Current temperature in Wash is 34 degrees, wind from the NW at 9 mph.
BTW, ya looked good on Cavuto yesterday--just had to say it!
Are you guys catching that song that AG Ashcroft wrote? Beautiful!
That's not too bad provided everyone wears good woolens, LOL.
Here's a link to a live CBS Newsfeed - no commercials and its audio is fair to middling. http://video.cgi.cbsnews.com/video/video.pl?url=/broadcast/*/livenews1.wmv&sid=500251
Yes I am listening to the songs--also the one that Orrin Hatch helped to write. They are bringing tears! Oh, and here is Laura--beautiful!
WVNan, What are you doing here? Your supposed to be in DC.
Flipping through the channels last night, I saw you on CNN Headline News. As soon as that report was over, I thought "cool, Kristinn did a good Job. Can't believe I caught that." Hit the remote to go to the next channel (which was Fox News) and there was Kristinn again! Two reports on 2 channels within 1 minute of each other. Both with FR Logos and a suit and tie Kristinn. Excellent Job. Stay safe and warm today.
Quite a contrast to the "lefty" that was on with him on Cavuto, huh?!
On Scene Report Number Two:
Kristinn has only moved a hundred feet since our last report, and still has another thirty feet to go before he gets into the tent (stretched all across 7th Street) that contains the metal detectors. RabidRalph has made it in.
I gave kristinn the message to look for Lions Daughter by the tuba section of the Auburn Band.
Army is keeping the security check crowd in order. The crowd is fairly good-natured, but I heard someone yell something like There are no terrorists in Iraq. The favorite lefty poster today seems to be a black and white head shot of the President with the caption, worst president ever. (Picture appears to be from bartcop.com.)
Press is getting Head of Line privileges for the security check, as are military in uniform. A Navy officer walked passed kristinn who called out, Were on your side, by the way.
His feet are already frozen.
I never realized we had so much creative talent among our politicians.
Of course!!! FReepers rule!---Here comes the MAN!!!
Prayers Up for W!!!!!!
Amen to that--keep him safe!....and may he have a successful 2nd term!
Prayers added for our President. Also for all our Freeper Family in D.C. today.
