She is dizzy, almost wobbly. Her head aches, her coughing won't stop, and because she doesn't have enough money she has not filled her four prescriptions nor seen a doctor recently.

But that doesn't stop her.

Soon it will be midnight, and Ipifania Dominguez will be back at work cleaning up blood, bone and fat in the world's largest pork slaughterhouse. She'll be back in the "head room," as she calls it, where meat is cut from pigs' heads.

Actually not. I built a house a few years ago with all legal american labor. He is the one that is "catching" up to me.

Huh then why your snide remarks about your brother in your reply #311.

Why not let the free market determine what wages ought to be

Apparently the free market has already decided. $6.90 hr.

But if you go to jail for hiring illegals, you just may lose your customers...

Like I said, I have thus far managed to elude the dragnet that is actively persuing me for hiring a Mexican cleaning lady.

Quote: Really? You were around to document your above italicized passage in the early to mid 20th century. Call me skeptical.

Yes I can. Here uncles are still alive today at 85-95 years of age and told of their fathers arriving LEGALLY in this country in the late 1800's and starting their construction business's.(which are still active)

BTW, I don't know what lobbying firm you OBL types work for but shouldn't Barlowmaker be making an appearance ? I notice ClintonBeGone has shrunk off. Bayourod must have tagged you. Is he getting ready to do that flying leap back into the ring ?

Framing is not dead, far from it. They are just trying the old died industry let it die argument. Whether the wall is prefabed in a factory, a mobile home, of custom built on site all the walls ahve to be framed.

My argument was in response to his/her last post which stated framers were becoming obsolete due to different building practices

And then you stated that the 50,000 or so houses were being built by illegal labor.

My summation was to ask you if you thought those houses were impure and should be bulldozed, and damning the opinion of those people who actually want a piece of the American dream(i.e a roof of their own).

In that case, I guess I hope she IS illegal. It would make her less likely to want to draw attention to herself by suing me.

And your summation was stupid. The only one who ever talks about bulldozing anything is you.

It was not a snide remark, just that illegal hispanice have wrecked the construction jobs in his area that american workers can no longer compete or cannot do so at low wages. The hispanics have taken over drywall, painting, brick and block, roofing, tile etc. The ony non-hispanics were the hvac guys.

It is a free market but with "unfair competion", ie hiring illegals....With fair competition for the jobs and products, then see what happens to wages...include following the Fair Labor Standards Act and paying required benefits like workers comp and SS..otherwise those breaking the law have an advantage over those that don't...Either we are a Nation of laws or we aren't we can't pick and choose which ones to follow...

And is your brother complaining?

I think the one complaining is the person who thinks that persons of a wrong color actually built the house.

More tranparent nonsense from the OBL. But then again, what can be expected from those who protect career criminals ? Honesty ? Integrity ?

Trust me she can still sue you. The end result is she will be very wealthy in her south american town. You anology is if you rape or murder her charges cannot be brought against you because she is illegal.

It takes one case. It takes one kid in your child's school getting cholera or typhoid fever to focus EVERYONE'S attention.

Tell me about it. Certain folks here don't understand, because they obviously live in better communities than we do. I'll bet their kid's teachers don't even think to check for head lice, nevermind routine tb tests. They'd freak if the maid or landscaping crew passed on any of those plagues.

I cannot believe that people think it is okay to break the law, and sit here on FR and debate their position.

Hey folks, I do proofreading and editing. Call me. Lol...

Wrong, guy. There would be a stayed deportation order issued by some sympathetic judge long enough for what's-her-name to sue your pants off and win a huge settlement, just in time to send all that wealth you used to own to MEXICO. Then you could caddie for 20 bucks an hour - but because Mexicans do the job faster, a round of golf would be a one and a half our trek for them, so you'll prolly only make 30 bucks. Sounds like free trade to me - how about you?

You are throwing out the racist line again. Sam the Sham is right!! BTW
I am not racist(one of my bets friends in hs was black) at the least but have a problem with illegal labor and companies doing illegal practices. We all end up paying for it in the long run.
