FORT WORTH, Texas -- Here is proof that cats really have nine lives.
One cold morning while in the backyard of a Nebraska homeowner Ruth Bogenreif, a cat was taking a drink out of a heated bird bath. Something apparently startled the cat and she jumped, wet paws and all, onto a chain link fence.
In freezing temperatures, the cats small feet froze instantly to the metal.
"He was hanging with his paws froze to the fence. His head, the back of his neck, was in the water," said Bogenreif.
Using warm water, Bogenreif and her grandchildren freed the cat from the metal and then turned it over to the local shelter.
"She's not walking well on her right leg, we're assuming muscle paralysis at this point. Hopefully she'll be getting better as the swelling goes down," said Pam Wiese with the Humane Society.

You know, if this kind of thing occurrs, and there's no warm water handy, there is an alternative way to get hands etc. unstuck... Ah, urine... Healing jellyfish stings, filling empty radiators and unsticking frozen tongues from metal poles... Is there nothing it CAN'T do?? :)

Well, after all, it was
Alpo . . . < g >
My dog's older and better trained now. She'll heel pretty well, and she will sit in front of her filled food dish until told "O.K." You can leave her there and she'll wait til you get back (I just go around the corner, making her wait for her supper just for grins is cruel!) or you can put a biscuit on the ground in front of her, tell her "leave it", and she will turn her head so she doesn't have to stare at it, but she won't touch it til you tell her "O.K."
But she still is a sucker for human interaction. She'll still break sit if somebody speaks to her. We're working on that. For a loony Chocolate Lab she isn't doing so badly . . .

"But you would presumably be on land..." In my experience, the vast majority of jellyfish stings arise from incorrect presumptions....

Love this pic, not only because I am a cat lover (he has long hair, is black and without equal) but because the German Shepherd is my dog of choice.

That cat was totally set up by the toy swinging from the high speed fan! Shame on the perpetrators of this horrific spectacle and shame on you - may
Pinkey find you in the night!

No...did they do that on the show? I was speaking from personal experience...I stepped on one on a deserted end of a Greek island about 10 years ago. I had water shoes on so it wasn't so bad - most of the spines I was able to pick out with tweezers on my Swiss Army Knife.

I think it was Alpo because of the strong odor.
The best Arson Dog I've seen is a lab.
Truly a marvel to watch her work.
When she's off duty she's as friendly as can be.
No one is allowed to feed the dog except her handler.

Thanks for the great "Flick Pic."
Whenever I so much as think of how his voice sounded as he pleaded with his (fair weather [double meaning]) friends to not leave him, I LAUGH OUT LOUD. Especially when his shrieking, strained voice cracks.
Ralphy, how COULD you?

Thanks for the link! Pinky's a friendly cat!
Regarding the Cat Fan movie, I think they just wanted to watch the cat staring at the toy as it went round and round. They never could have expected in a million years that he would snag it and go for a ride!
Besides, I'm sure he was fine after he shook off that wall collision.
