Early arrivals. Est. time 10:00 a.m., 11 January 2005.
One Democrat, State Senator Tim Sheldon, had the moxy to stand up for principle and against politics. Thank you Tim, and God bless you.
The happy thing is, not even the dead were disenfrachised in this last election.
FreeRepublic played a major role in facilitating the large turnout. Note FR logos on Cory's signs.
Tigger is a Republican!!! Who is this tiger? A FReeper? Would the tiger please step forward? :-)
FReeper Vicki's husband Mike at left.
This is not a partisan matter. It is one of right and wrong, and of following Washington State election law.
Freeper Vicki, standing proud for what is right.
The rally was not altogether peaceful. Notice the gash marks along the spray-painted word "Revote" in this revote supporter's truck. It is not clear whether the dents were also the result of vandalism. What is clear: This type of activity, which plagued the Presidential campaign, always seems to come from the same ideology.
Way to go!!!

Beautiful, beautiful place, hoosiermama, I am very interested in the "cutting edge" electrical thingy you mentioned. Is that the one that plugs into an outlet for internet access?
Please ping and post if good news comes???? re this?
Us Washingtonian's surely need some good news for a change.
And Lib, please tell us how best to fight from home, even with a nasty broken right wrist!!!
Typing with left, nuts.
Oreo, how on earth did you break your wrist? If I were you, I'd spend your time on the telephone tree; contacting legislators and newpaper publishers. Typing must be especially frustrating! Please get better soon :) Hmm, wonder if the Rossi HQ needs any help making calls...you could ask them.
Hoosiermama, what a beautiful place. I've warned you before that we're ALL going to come visit you! LOL
Apparently I am not the only person that noticed the similarities between Smeagol from Lord of the Rings and Gregoire......
to give you all a good laugh, I slipped on ice right outside the door of my health club while leaving!!!!!!
Unbelievable, two days in hospital, surgery, nails (pins, EXTERIOR) in wrist for 2 months!!!! Nuts again.
Ah, the agony of irony!
Prayers for your swift recovery.
thanks lexi.
Is it possible to view these on the web hosting space to which they were uploaded? I have dial-up and they are too large for my PC / ISP.
BTT!!!!!!
ping
Yes. Ping to #26....
ROTFLOL Sorry, it IS funny ;) But I hope you heal soon, (I've heard that people in good health are more apt to do so ;)
Why do you guys keep calling for a re-vote? It seems pretty clear that Rossi won. But whatever, I hope you guys cream the demoncrats in some form.
I've been slow to submit my personal impressions of yesterday's rally (yes, I was there!). I've had to dance around work requirements, and my pesky loony liberal "partner" who instinctively sensed that I was going, and tried to sabotage my plans with an unscheduled trip to Bellevue (I still made in time ;'}
So here goes:
I was gratified by the turnout. True, there could have been more, and more might have sent a stronger message, but I doubt it. The makeup of the pro-Rossi group was very telling: Lots of professional people; lots of retired folks; lots of veterans; lots of families! These people sacrificed their busy schedules in order to make their presence (and their opinion) known.
On the GreGorvich side I saw plenty of paid union workers.
The pro-Rossi side featured people that I wouldn't hesitate to sit down with and share a meal with, tell a story to, or join in a drink.
The GreGorvich people were arrogant and hostile. I eyed them warily.
The pro-Rossi folks went down to Olympia to express their unease and dissatisfaction with the way that GreGorvich and King County usurped the election for the 'rats.
The GreGorvich people went down to Olympia to confront us. Their agenda is pretty plain to me - confrontation for the sake of confrontation.
The pro-Rossi folks had American flags.
The GreGorvich-ites had dirty mouths.
So what can we take away from this? The vote (to confirm and seat GreGorvich) fell on party lines (with the exception of Tim Sheldon!). GreGorvich will get her dance with the devil on Inaugural Day. The 'rats committed another daylight robbery - does anybody care?
I work in a heavily unionized company (although I'm no longer union myself - THANK GOD!). I resent the fact that liberals can spout whatever nonsense they want without reproach, but I must watch every word. Such is Washington State politics. We don't dare put a bumper sticker on our car for fear that some 'rat bastard will vandalize the whole vehicle to make their point. Same for a sign on my lawn - I consider myself lucky if all they do is steal it.
That brings me to my personal crusade (I love the word crusade because it offends muzzies and makes liberals pee their pants ;'}
My objective is to make being a liberal in Washington a very uncomfortable thing to do. I walked through the crowds yesterday without leaving a "wake" - no one recognized me as a "lefty" or a "righty". I cruised through the enemy camp just as easily as I did my friends. I take particular delight in the fact that liberals as so blinded to style over substance that they can be so easily deceived and manipulated (if you don't mind getting too close to them!).
Likewise, I have taken to posting on liberal forums. I have adopted various persona to fit the circumstance, and have had great sport liberal-baiting. The opportunities for mayhem are enormous.
Once upon a time I used to be a tolerant, live & let live kinda guy. Once upon a time the state of Washington was, too. Times change.
So have I.
Sorry I couldn't be there. Thanks for the pics. Good work!
Others have provided exhaustive facts, analysis, and (yes) hard evidence of fraud. www.soundpoltitics.com and KVI's John Carlson (former gubernatorial candidate) have proven stalwart leaders on this.
There's a REASON even many Democrats are in support of this effort.
GREAT anecdote!
