Mel Gibson's Secret Meetings with Fatima Visionary
Newsmax ^ | Jan 11th, 2005

Posted on 01/11/2005 11:30:36 AM PST by missyme

Actor Mel Gibson held a secret meeting with one of the famous visionaries of Fatima, Sister Lucia of Portugal. Sister Lucia, now 98 years of age, is a cloistered nun who as a child saw and spoke with the Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal in 1917.

Her visions and those of her two childhood friends, both since passed away, were both prophetic and apocalyptic. The Catholic Church accepted the visions as authentic.

"He created exactly 3 humans free from original sin: Adam, Eve, and Mary"

As has already been pointed out, there is absolutely no Scriptural evidence to suggest Mary was born free from original sin. That is no small point. There are several references to Christ being born free of sin. None concerning Mary. There is Catholic Tradition that states that, but given the choice of believing the Word of God or the word of man, there is no choice.

"Pilate on the other hand was in the wrong place a the wrong time."

So Mary was part of God's plan, but Pilate was just a coincidence? Did God not know Pilate's role before he was born? Did God only build half a plan? The Pharisees could not sentence Jesus to death. If they could have, they would have. That is why they brought Him to Pilate. And Pilate could have denied their request. But he played his part. As did Mary. And there is absolutely no Scriptural evidence to suggest otherwise.

Thanks for your kind words, Ray...

Your post is a powerful and much needed factual testimony of Scriptural truth, as well as primer on Catholic dogma, and historical context of Mary.

"As an aside, are you aware Nostradamus' prophecy warned that the Anti-Christ's name was the same spelt forwards as backwards? Ergo: SOROS. Curious...I can only believe it."

Without Nostradamus' "prophecy," Soros is obviously the anti-Christ, isn't he? :-) Of course there is a strong argument for Hitlery.

"Are you acquainted with the Virgin's last message given in the Medjugorje vision? The Message is simple and universal."

I'm not actually. But I still maintain should one message from "Our Lady of Medjugorje" is a lie, then all the others are. Satan is given the power to deceive; What's more effective than lies mixed in with truth? Hasn't Bubba already proven that theory? ;-)

Your liberal bias is showing.......

No, his knee-jerk anti-Catholic bias is showing. If this thread lasts he will be joined by his brethren in a bash-fest.

Don't say anything bad about Fatima, or there'll be, whining.

George Soros is a megalomaniac and certainly anti-Christian.
*
Of course there is a strong argument for Hitlery.
*
Hillary Clinton is also a megalomaniac and she is America's the prime antagonist now that John Kerry is defeated.
*

*
A deliberate lie? Or a misinterpretation? All I can say is what was attributed to being the Virgin's last message is so benign and so profound I cannot dismiss its value.
*
Satan is given the power to deceive; What's more effective than lies mixed in with truth? Hasn't Bubba already proven that theory? ;-)

Any human has the ability to willfully deceive. You mean there was an iota of truth in anything Bubba said? !

Bubba is a *pro-social*(glib&charisma&rape) sociopath; Hillary is a megalomaniac, and that is seriously pathological. Bubba ain't the tyrannical one of the duo. I'd take ten Bubbas over one, or even one-half of a Hillary.

Not sure the 3rd was the collapse of Russia but the damage an unchanged Russia will have on the world.

BTW, how long as Russia been referred to as Russia as opposed to the Soviet Union? Was it called Russia in the original Fatima in 1903?

I do not doubt that Jeane Dixon may have said words to that effect. She was originally a Catholic, and unfortunately got too mixed up in pseudo-occult stuff later on.

My memory - as told to me as a child in the 60s - was that she said that "the Chair would be empty", referring to the Chair of Peter. Perhaps this was a different locution?

Baptists have the Bible. : )

Well said.

I had never heard anything regarding Mary ascending to Heaven... I'm going to have to learn more about this.

Do you also realize Roman Catholics believe she was perpetually virgin and perpetually sinless? In fact, when you hear of their celebrating the "Immaculate Conception," you might (as I did) assume it's about Jesus' being conceived in her. But, it's not. It's about Mary's being immaculately conceived in her mother's womb.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong about that but, that's how I understand it.

Regarding the Miracle of the Sun, it should be clearly noted that of the 70 - 75,000 witnesses, there were many government officials, scientists, news reporters - all of them skeptics. Most non- Catholic.....even non or anti-religious.

Yet all saw the miracle take place.

That say there was a horrible, driving rain. The Cova d;Ira was ankle to knee deep in mud in some places. Everybodies clothes were totally soaked by the rain.

After the completion of the Miracle, the ground was dry - and so were everyone's clothes. As one surviving witness said:"As if they had just come from the laundry".

The Third Secret was written down by Lucia, and sent to Rome by her local Bishop. The instructions from Our Lady were that it was to be opened by the whomever was to be Pope in 1960, because "by 1960, things would be clearer".

That pope was to publish its contents for all the world to read an know - and to then consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary........then Russia would be converted, and the world would have peace for a while.

Pope John XXIII did not do the consecration, as it have been tantamount ot a wholesale condemnation of Marxism - which would have disrupted the Vatican Moscow Accord which he entered (foolishly) into.

It is understood that when Pope John XXIII read the text of the third Secret, he fainted.

According to an account in "A Gift of Prophecy, The Phenomenal Jean Dixon" by Ruth Montgomery (Bantam Books, 1965), Jean Dixon listens to large talking snakes wrapped around her bedpost in the night. According to the book, on July 14, 1952, Jean had a vision of such a snake, its eyes were looking toward the East (its eyes filled with very great wisdom). Jean felt that this snake knew all things. The snake told her that she too must look to the East for wisdom. And she felt that this snake was a bringer of peace on Earth and good will and great knowledge.

I guess it begs the question where one's authority lies: either talking snakes or the Word of the Lord. The former of the two doesn't really have all that good of a track record. Scripture says: "The begining of wisdom lies with fear of the Lord" (Jo 28:28; Psa 111:10; Prv 1:7; 9:10; 15:33; Isa 11:2; 33:6).

In that regard Scripture intimates how wise Paul indeed was; his fear of the Lord being an absolute and utter terror felt right in the very marrow of his bones:

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;" - II Cor 5:10,11a

The apostle Peter illuminates the source of Paul's terror:

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?" - I Pt 4:17,18

The writer to the Hebrews states this most eloquently:

"Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." - He 10:29-31

Paul is quite clear about the danger inherent of such things as Marian apparitions (and talking snakes):

"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." - II Cor 11:13-15

So, Sr. Lucia isn't being "kept behind bars", she's there because she wants to be.

Why do they do that?
