Mel Gibson's Secret Meetings with Fatima Visionary
Newsmax ^ | Jan 11th, 2005

Posted on 01/11/2005 11:30:36 AM PST by missyme

Actor Mel Gibson held a secret meeting with one of the famous visionaries of Fatima, Sister Lucia of Portugal. Sister Lucia, now 98 years of age, is a cloistered nun who as a child saw and spoke with the Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal in 1917.

Her visions and those of her two childhood friends, both since passed away, were both prophetic and apocalyptic. The Catholic Church accepted the visions as authentic.

The third secret of fatima has already happened. It concerned the attempt on the Pope's life and the sex scandal in the Church (maybe it wasn't so specific as the scandal being of a sexual nature) So there really shouldn't be any more such hype about Fatima. Glad to hear Sr. Lucy is still alive and well at 98. Weren't there some predictions at a place called Garabandal and some of Padre Pio's prophecies saying that Sr. Lucy will live to see certain miracles?

Details of the third secret were revealed by Cardinal Ratzinger, who is certainly a trustworthy authority, so presumably they are true as far as they go. What we don't know for sure is whether there may be more to the third secret.

For those unfamiliar with this business, the first two secrets revealed way back in 1917 appear to have predicted many of the events involved with the rise of Communism in Russia, the major events of the Second World War, the Cold War, and the promised "conversion of Russia" if the Pope and the bishops agreed to formally dedicate Russia to Mary. Whether or not that was done was a matter of dispute.

The third secret may or may not involve "the smoke of Satan in the Church" (i.e. all the troubles from dissidents and heretics in the past 40 or 50 years), the attempted assassination of the Pope, or perhaps other matters.

The whole business is quite extraordinary and, whether or not one is prepared to believe such matters, very difficult to simply brush away.

I don't think that is correct. I seem to remember reading something about the Third Secret in which it was suggested that it specifically referred to a "diabolical disorder" within the Church.

The collapse of the Soviet Union does not fit the pattern of the three secrets. Remember -- the Third Secret was intended to be a warning of what would happen AFTER the rise of the Soviet Union and World War II if the people of this world did not amend their ways.

Nope.

You should check out some of the other nonsense we Catholics believe, like the Son of God rising from the dead.

Hey, Mel. Maybe next you'd like to make a movie about Sister Lucia's visions at Fatima.

(I know. I know. Forget about the old Jennifer Jones flick.)

Or a better idea would be one about the life of Mohammed.

Catholics are not required by the Church to believe in the apparitions at Fatima. But these particular apparitions have been authenticated by her and are therefore approved.

Before relegating the matter to 'a crock' I suggest you educate yourself. The message of Our Lady of Fatima is compelling and has come to pass in our lifetime.

Peace -

Probably because of the 70,000 witnesses who were there to observe the miracles, many of them anti- catholic, such as you.
