The discovery of death may well be the defining moment in the evolution of our species. The knowledge that our existence is circumscribed, that it cannot be taken for granted, brought about our fall from grace, our loss of innocence. The fact of Death is the cornerstone on which all human knowledge is built. It is the source of our greatest anxiety, and of our greatest inspiration. It is a fact that even today most, if not all of us, continue to refuse to accept. That refusal has led us to search for a "work-around". It has led us to populate our world with witches, ghosts, ancestral spirits, demons, angels, devils, and gods. It has led to the creation of Heaven and Hell. It has generated the concepts of reincarnation and resurrection. And it has driven us to produce the greatest works of our civilization -- from the pyramids of ancient Egypt to the soaring cathedrals of medieval Europe.
Over the past few hundred years, Science has steadily eroded the foundations of belief. One after another the pillars of faith have been smashed by the wrecking balls of "the scientific method". God, life after death, and the human spirit , once considered "facts" as eternal and immutable as the universe itself, are now mere superstitions, ideas without substance sustained only by "faith" and the irrational workings of the limbic brain.

I think I'd rather spend my time reading the Bible. I know a lot of these things are very interesting but...
For now, perhaps.
Then there's all kinds of proof that is unmistakable. But science will never get you there no matter how much you discover about the material world.
If in fact the material world is God's creation I wouldn't say never.
As Blaise Pascal said, "If God does not exist, one will lose nothing by believing in him, while if he does exist, one will lose everything by not believing."
1 Timothy 6:20
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
"God is the author of science"
Although this seems like a simple concept, (one I've subscribed to for quite a few years), many of the "self impressed" (leftist liberal professors, journalists etc.) have been blinded by it's simplicity.
They are the ones of whom the bible speaks when referring to those who are " ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth"...2 Timothy 3:7.

This was enough to convince me of an Orginal Cause or 1st Breath (God to others).
Awsome!
Thanks for the photos link.
A good study is to follow the progression of physical life, accompanied by a God breathed soul life, followed for those in faith alone in Christ alone with a reborn spirit,...our thinking processed through the soul and when processed by the indwelling of the Spirit, helps to sanctify our spirit through the heart. Our outward speaking which may inflence the spirit is from the heart.
A continuing walk in faith offers to fill up to perfection a man of body, soul and spirit. This doesn't deny the physical, rather it fulfills all that has been created.
We might witness the physical decay of bodies we percieve and reason to associate with the vessals of life, but ressurection is large eye-opener. Not only does one have newness of life in the spirit upon regeneration, but in time we will also be given a resurrected body.
Until science can grasp these issues it is merely a cheap panacea for reality.
Arthur C Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama" is more relevant than Silent Running.
And Pascal's Wager has been refuted over and over and over; it has got to be one of the worst arguments for belief in history.
On what basis do you say that? Have you ever talked to scientists face-to-face? Have you ever worked in a laboratory alongside scientists and heard their conversations? There may be a very few vocal scientists who use their understanding of science to justify their atheism, but they are a vocal minority, like the Michael Newdows of the world, who think that increasing their volume makes up for their lack of numbers. The fact is, science is completely religion neutral. Yes, that includes the theory of evolution. Science is only a high-tech way of describing the physical world around us. Science cannot prove or disprove the existence of God. If a scientist determines that a particular virus enters the body through a mosquito bite and thereby causes disease, has that scientist made a statement about the existence of God? Not hardly!
Until you have personally spoken to a large number of scientists and ascertained that the majority of us are more concerned with disproving the existence of God than we are with discovering new things, please don't presume to judge us. In other words, judge not...
Nope. Urban legend.
Agree completely. :-)
