08.01.05 | Various sources report that El Charcote ranch, owned by British Vestey group, was seized this morning by Venezuelan authorities and the army. This is the first illegal seizure that the Chavez regime conducts against private property owned by foreign groups. With this precedent, will anyone be intrepid enough to invest in Venezuela?

It's from a bachata song by Juan Luis Guerra from the Dom Rep....called Burbujas de Amor...Bubbles of Love.

"I wish I was a little fish so I could dip my nose in your aquarium"...lol....it does not translate well and has metaphors coming from all directions.

You can find it all over the net and dowload it for free if you'd like to hear it. The song is my alltime fav love song and reminds me of my once upon a time life in the Carib basin tropics....the song is from 1990 or so. It has a sort of more bossa nova tempo with a hint of salsa-merengue.

You are only the second to have noticed after 2 months...lol

This is bad. I wonder if England has some recourse to seize Venezuelan assets?

So does "aquarium" have a double meaning, perhaps? I'll have to remember that one.

Watch out...here comes the Forum Ethnic Sensitivity Enforcement Training Officers

No. I agree Mexico is a hellhole, but why does everything have to degenerate to an argument on illegal immigration with you guys?

I wasn't on la migra to tell you the truth.

I was addressing the lack of tolerance for being critical of or ridiculing anything that's not White and Christian...or worse, Southern too.

And to be honest...having been about everywhere....Mexico is pretty fubar in many places but there are much worse spots....Haiti, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Zimbabwe, Congo (take your pick which), several of the "Stans" have a ways to go.....most of the world is third or second at best.

I'll agree that America is #1 and all other countries are 2nd best.

I found in my 16 years in the third world that even really bad places have beauty.

I grew quite comfortable with it.

It would take some getting used to again. Most Americans see so little of the really bad stuff outside the US that they are stunned when they get a glimpse going to the "resort"..

Suffering children is probably the one thing no one gets used to. I hear that universally from everyone...soldiers, tourists, business folks like I once was, expats.

The Salvador Option’. Pentagon may put Special-Forces-led assassination teams in Iraq

It's way past time for the Allende Option to be used in Venezuela.

I never mentioned illegal immigration. If you have a dispute with someone over the issue, address your statement to that person.

This is from the site. Another Zimbabwe and we're in at the beginning. What will the British Government do, I wonder.

I'm hoping another Falkland.
