- Known as the "King Of Rock"
- It is estimated that Elvis Presley has sold over one billion record units worldwide, more than anyone in record industry history. (From elvis.com)
- The only tours outside of America were all in Canada.
- Elvis has had no less than 149 songs to appear on Billboards Hot 100 Pop Chart in America.
- He was also a leading artist in the American country, R&B, and gospel fields, and his chart success in other countries was substantial.
- In 1961, Elvis gave a benefit concert at Bloch Arena in Hawaii that raised over $65,000 toward the building of the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.
- The 1984 W.C. Handy Award from the Blues Foundation in Memphis recognized Elvis for "keeping the blues alive in his music - rock and roll."
- In 1986, Elvis was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. His presenters were none other than Sean and Julian Lennon--the sons of John Lennon.
- Is a direct descendant of Abraham Lincoln's great-great grandfather, Isaiah Harrison.
- One of only a handful of artists inducted into both The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and The Country Music Hall of Fame. Others include Johnny Cash and Hank Williams.
- The Beatles were admirers of his work and although John Lennon said they enjoyed his company very much, Elvis himself, ironically, thought that the Beatles were a bad influence on America's youth.
- More people watched _Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii (1973)_ (live Via Satellite TV special) than watched Neil Armstrong walk on the moon.
- In 1975 he purchased a poor black East Memphis woman an electric wheel chair and picked her up and personally sat her in it. The woman's teenage daughter told Elvis she liked his car. He gave it to her and even gave her boyfriend a job.
More info about Elvis will be posted throughout the music dedication. Also, all the information can be found at www.elvis.com and www.imdb.com . There are hundreds of other places with Elvis info and pictures. |

NO WAY!!! They actually have a chance today - we've beaten Seattle twice already this year. We'll see.... any farther into the playoffs though would be a total miracle!

Which just made me realize that since I'd be overnighting it to you postage due, you'd actually be further ahead if you sent me money via paypal. ;)

Fawnn, Fawnn
Do you know Tony and Dawn?
I've wondered why we've never done this before,
I think it's because MoJo can't take much more,
I think about writing poetry,
but I'd rather watch TV,
Taking this serious is not my thing,
Although it's better than hearing me sing,
I wonder what my mom would say,
If someone would actually pay,
To put this poem to a song,
Before someone hits the gong!
The End!

It is the carbon monoxide time of year.
Last year during the freak ice and sleet storm they had in the Carolinas , it took their Poison Center out. All their calls got rerouted to us.
We had call after call with people trying to heat their homes with something inappropriate. Lots of carbon monoxide cases.
To make matters worse, the ambulances were having a real time running because it was a potential lethal trip for them to even be out on the road.
The ER docs were making us evaluate if the risk to the exposed was worth the life of an EMT. It was bad.
Had some deaths that week.

You have quite a future in verse, sweet MoJo.
Entertaining others in rhyme, don'tchaknow
That every talent is sort of a gift.
That includes slacking that gives others a lift. ;)

Well, you're just a spotlight stealer. That was much better than MoJO's little ditty. I'm so sad. Where's my Mountain Dew to help me through this trauma.
UGH!
I'm so sad.

I eat my peas with honey
I've done it all my life
It makes 'em taste kinda funny.....
I don't have much money
for movies and DVDS so my
entertainment is very simple
eating peas with honey
and FReeping away this day...
I live a silly simple life
and watch myself eating
peas with honey...
it adds so much to my day
which used to be very gay
until Fawnn came along with
this ditty and made my hair
turn grey... from eating
peas with honey day after day
