9/11 GROUP VOWS TO PUT CONGRESS' 'FEET TO FIRE'(Restrick ILLEGAL ALIENS now)
New York Post ^ | 01/04/2005 | MATTHEW SWEENEY

January 4, 2005 -- Relatives of 9/11 victims vowed yesterday to press Congress to tighten the borders and crack down on illegal immigration. "We're going to hold their feet to the fire," Joan Molinaro, a member of 9/11 Families for a Secure America, said during a press conference at Ground Zero.

Members of the group, which represents families of 300 people who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, said they wanted to remind Congress, which convenes today, that it must revisit border security and tighter identification requirements for visas and driver's licenses.

The group joined Rep. James Sensenbrenner (Wis.), House Judiciary Committee chairman, and some other prominent Republicans last year in a failed attempt to include measures against illegal immigration in the intelligence bill that President Bush signed last month.

Sensenbrenner is expected to re-introduce the legislation today.

Families for a Secure America has charged that the failure to keep out unauthorized aliens led directly to the 9/11 attacks.

The group calls the problem of illegal entry into the country "massive" and warns that it has grown over the past 30 years.

Thanks for posting this. I heard that 300 of the Families for a Secure America held a protest yesterday at ground zero and have looked everywhere for coverage.

Thanks!! I looked on their website today for this story, but it wasn't listed yet. I'll be glad to join their efforts.

Do you think they read the 9/11 report, Wm. Buckley, Toney Blankley, David Frum? They all disagree with you along with 75 to 100 REPUBLICAN congress people. You know better. What you're trying to do is convince someone who doesn't know any better.

What you and the others who give sacred status to Pres. Bush's "immigration" reform really want to say is DO NOT CRITISIZE ANY THING THIS PRESIDENT DOES. Why don't you just come out and say it.

Most of us worked our butts off for Bush. That's why I signed on here when I did, because he needed all of our help before the election. He's wrong on this and your incessant defense of it will never make it right and makes you just as disgusting as the democrats defense of Clinton when he was wrong. I believe Pres. Bush is a good man, and his "feelings" are in the way of logic and the reality most of us face. I will not believe he appreciates those blindly loyal to him. I may be wrong, and that is the real tragedy if it is true.

I will not engage you again, until you want to get honest about this invasion. Ben, you were almost there the other day, what happened? Get a new set of talking points? I remember how EVERYONE bitched about the Dem talking points during Clinton.

This group is a bunch of fine Americans who have mostly supported President Bush. They are not the whinning feminists group that Sen. Collins/Lieberman embraced and worked to get Kerry elected. People confuse the two groups unfortunately.

You have expressed interest in this subject in the past, please let me know if you want off this illegal immigration ping list. Thanks!

If Congress fails to act and another terrorist attack occurs on U.S. soil due to lax border/immigration laws/enforcement, the citizenry should hold "other body parts" of Congress to the fire!

And many --- like the Mara Salvatrucha guys are every bit as bad as Muslims. Just like the way they shot those passengers on a bus back home --- they intend to do a lot of damage to us.

They seem to have no trouble at all coming over the border.

You know, this Bush Plan gets talked about a lot. Its everywhere in the media and talked about constantly at FR.

But there is something very odd about the Bush Plan, it doesn't exist. Sure, a long time ago he made some public statements about he preferred a guest worker plan, made a few very generalized statements, and said that he would let Congress work out the details.

But all these months later, not one Congressman has worked out any details on the Bush plan. There is no bill in Congress written around the Bush Plan. Very odd.

Now lets look at Senator Cornyn's Guest Worker bill. He introduced that many months ago and got only one co-sponser in the Senate and no one would introduce it into the House.

Do you understand that there is no support in Congress for a guest worker program? There is no Bush Plan.

On the other hand, there are numerous bills in Congress that are widely accepted and supported to differnt degrees and all have one thing in common. That one thing that they have in common is the "earned legalization" language aka "path to citizenship".

Look at the AgJobs bill. There are enough votes in both the House and the Senate to pass that bill but they have to pass a bill that deals with all foreign workers, not just ag workers. The final immigration reform bill will be almost identical to AgJobs, but applied to all foreign workers.

And when this bill comes out of Congress, Bush will be forced to sign because it is the only bill he can get. No doubt, many will blame him.

After it is all said and done, you will look back and regret that you didn't support Bush on this.

>"The Millenium Bomber arrived at the US border with a bomb in the trunk of his car and written plans to blow up LAX."<

-I'm fully aware of the millennium bomber thanks. So now you use him as anecdotal evidence that we don't need to worry about terrorists coming through our southern border?

>"I am pointing out that the facts as you know them and the facts as Congress knows them are entirely different."<

HA! Representative James Sensenbrenner, Tom Tancredo, JD Hayworth all have facts, as members of Congress. They have all been shouting from the rooftops the dangers of our open southern border. But their facts don't count in your eyes, I suppose, because they think the Mexican border is a serious threat.

>"They don't read Vdare and Free Republic."<

Really? - Do they read the LA Times, Times magazine, or watch network news?
Do they read Michelle Malkin, David Frum, William F Buckley, or Robert Spencer?

-The link to the story I gave you about terrorists coming through our southern border was to KVOA; Eyewitness News 4, an NBC news affiliate.

KVOA 4 is a kook news site now? Times magazine also?

I won't ignore these "facts", and they don't jive with your point of view.

Michelle Malkin wrote about people who critisize proponents of secure borders here:

Malkin: "Activists smear anyone who wants better borders"

Note to self:
You just read a post to you and in the first line was,

"But there is something very odd about the Bush Plan, it doesn't exist."

AND in the last line you read:
"After it is all said and done, you will look back and regret that you didn't support Bush on this."

UHHHH........(scratching head)

BEWARE FROBL’s!!!

You are being sent this message because you have recently been stung by a FROBL.

That would be a Free Republic Open Border Lobbyist. Do not be concerned! Their stingers are so tiny it’s laughable. Which is what makes them so darn pesty and contrary.

They make a lot of noise, considering there are only about a dozen of them, and are really quite harmless, unless they are able to zap some unsuspecting victim who has wandered into “their territory”. Now “their territory seems to be, well, whatever they decide it is, usually any thread with people trying to present news about or discuss a solution to the illegal immigration crisis. Oh, they have radar!! And they’re fast.

They will use the excuse for this disruption as support for President Bush. President Bush would probably be ashamed of their “buzzing”. You will learn to recognize them and avoid their harassment. I didn’t say it’s easy!! No, you’ll want to swat them. That’s what they want, masochistic little buggers!

One is a lawyer, or believes he is. He will spout case by case (always irrelevant) his best Johnny Cochran babble.

Another likes to come in with a show; big color display, with EVERY post.

You’ll recognize a couple of these FROBL’s when you find, after being a patriotic, religious, conservative, self-reliant, first amendment type your entire life, that you are now a racist, xenophobic, idiot, undereducated moronic, lazy, Mexican/Bush hating Buchananite anti-semite isolationist. This one wants you to feel smaller than him. Don’t worry, it can’t be done.

One or two will defend making money off the hiring of illegals, avoiding taxes, minimum wage laws and what price his fellow citizens pay to subsidize his wealth.

Another one just bursts in briefly, fluttering her little wings to coach on one of her clan with a quick one liner to let you know she doesn’t like you, your opinion or source (no matter how conservative, reliable or factual it is). This one will remind you of her “seniority”. “Get it, Newbie??!!!!” Here’s where they show their true stripe, claiming to be compassionate to illegal border jumpers but proving how open minded they actually are when attacking a new poster.

But the worst are the two or three that will pretend to being “gentle”as if your IQ is just too low to comprehend anything about this issue.

It won’t matter if you’re living in a community that was a few years ago, “middle America” and now it is an illegal alien “camp” infested with crime, drugs, disease and despair.

It won’t matter if one of your family was killed by an illegal “ guest worker” even though illegal aliens now make up 1/3 of our incarceration rates.

It won’t matter when you tell them you are a college kid who can’t get hired because the foremen doesn’t speak English.

It won’t matter if you work for INS, Border patrol and try to make them understand the truth. They’ll call you a liar every time.

It won’t matter when you prove everything you say. So don’t even try. Tell someone who still has the ability to hear. They will appreciate it.
Tell your congressional representatives and the White House.

FROBL’s, though they proclaim their superiority in every way over YOU, only have one vote, too.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.
And FreeRepublic

As the democrats have publicly stated: The repuplicans are split; they will have to cross the aisle and ask for our support. When they do, we will be able to dictate the terms and many details.

Were'nt all the terrorists of 9/11 here legally?

At one time or another, yes. On 9/11/2000, no.

I thought they were all carrying legal passports.

What is a legal passport?

Sorry, but my BS meter is going off.

Time to get it fixed.

Most people that hang out in the FR immigration threads have never heard of the SEVIS-CIPRIS fiasco, but Congress is haunted by it.

Yep. CIPRIS was fantastic, but we got the water downed version, SEVIS.

The insults and stings many of us have received from the open borders Bush worshiping crowd only reinforce my belief that in some way they benefit from illegal immigration.

No American in his or her right mind could look at an invasion of 15 million people from a foreign country as a good thing. No American with any shred of patriotism could not help resent the fact that our own government has ignored this invasion and left our borders open to illegal aliens from all countries. No American who values American culture and sovereignty can agree with the invasion of millions of uneducated, possibly diseased, possibly criminal aliens. No American should have to lose his or her job to a foreign national who will work for peanuts. No American should be forced to financially support this invasion of millions with tax dollars. Why should this country continue to have porous borders when we are told that we are at war with terrorists?

All the above is happening right under our noses, with the support of our President and many in Congress. America is being sold out.
