A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 1.3.05

President and Mrs. Bush, former Presidents Bush and Clinton visited the embassies of the nations hardest hit by the Asian quake and tsunami: Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. He asked both (interestingly, Carter didn't make the list) to lead a nationwide charitable fund-raising effort for victims of the Asian tsunamis, through private contributions, non-governmental and international organizations. The White House's Freedom Corps, which helps facilitate volunteer efforts around the country, will assist the two former presidents in soliciting private contributions.

The president hosted a reception for new members elected to Congress and their spouses in the East Room; the swearing-in is tomorrow.

Alert: today's thread is laced with photos of The Impeached One. Other than that, enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!

I bet we see very little of HIllary . . . she won't want to go to dirty, disease infested, unhappy, hot countries,

Oh, yes, she does love touring. Don't you remember when we paid to have a private potty built for her at the Great Wall in China? And how much we spent for her to go to Africa with Chelsea? And on and on.
Chelsea's spring breaks were great adventures. Expensive for us, but never mind.
I'm sure Hillary would love to have the same travel options she did for 8 years.

Should I send you some? How is your building going? They put a cover over our basement today so the snow doesn't fill it in, and so they can warm it enough to lay pipe and concrete when it's time.

They said on FOX that Clinton went against his diet and had a plate of fries not a good example to other heart patients.

Lol. Thanks. Keep your fingers crossed. I always get more calls when I have a job than when I don't. I've gotten two calls from places I applied to before I got my job.

Later this week it's suppose to be 70 degrees here in Atlanta. Strange "winter" weather.

Clinton looks awful

For the first time in years and years his ability to abuse power is cut off, AND he's got to deal with hillary without being on a mission to grab more power for himself. I think he's got a lot of time on his hands to think.

And we're seeing the results of all that thinking right there on his Dorian Grey face-gone-wrong.

It adds a lot of difficulty, but luckily I don't know how to do any of those chore things so get to stay home and cook warm, nourishing meals. It's just harder all around to GET around, get the cattle fed, etc. Bad thing is we're having some calves and they'll freeze when it's so cold and windy, so they have to get any cattle who they think are "close" in, and check frequently for ones calving or baby calves outside.

**Clinton looks awful**

It was the bags under the eyes. I bet the MSM make no mention of this but Dick Cheney has only to sit hunched or look pensive and they start saying he is ill.

She loves it as long as it's fun for her and furthers HER agenda. Visiting India and etc. wouldn't. I think I read somewhere that over 800 people accompanied them on one trip. I just can't conceive of that, and how it was allowed to happen.

On Christmas Eve, I got a hand written letter from President Bush--of course it was the work of a machine but it addressed me by my first name and referred to my state. I've been so excited about that letter but haven't had a chance to mention it here. Did anyone else get one?

I once read some great advice. Never refuse to talk to someone who wants to hire you. Now, there is a difference between someone who wants to hire you and someone who is interested in talking with you about an interview. However, we never know when something might come about that we want that person's initial interest to have already formed into a good opinion.

This can be tricky when you are already employed, but if you handle it right, and develop, or cultivate, the contact not as an interview but as a networking tool, it can be very helpful later on.

What this would translate to for me if I were in your current situation, is that I would sincerely thank the person for their interest over the phone, ask them as many questions about their company and the job as they'll take time for, and be businesslike, grateful, and polite. I'd like to hang up the phone with that person knowing I am interested in future contact if something works out.

May the Lord fill your ranch with His angels to shelter, and to help with the gathering and protecting all the lives of your beasts and their little ones, preborn and soon-to-be born.

Wasn't that the Africa trip? Anyway, the President can authorize any trip he or she wants.
But hillary is still traveling on her Congressional perks. I think she's been to Afghanistan. I remember a picture of her with the troops, when the troops weren't looking very enthusiastic with their visitor.

If she gets elected President, we'll have huge travel bills for her, her husband and daughter.

I wish I could have some of your crab salad, crab salad is my all time favorite dish, honestly!

Enjoy your snow!
It has not got above zero here yet this year!
Right now it is the warmest it has been...-4. Normal January weather.

I received one; it seems he sent them to donors to his re-election campaign and to the RNC. Pretty cool, huh?
