Doubts linger as Gregoire win certified (3500 more ballots than voters)

"This is exactly the kind of issue that I think can be brought up in the contested-election statutes," Reed said.

But why did he certify the election if the numbers are in doubt?

"What I signed was a certification for the numbers that were submitted to us by the counties," he said. "I am not in a judicial or an investigative role here."

The latest questions about King County came after the elections office released on Wednesday a list of all registered voters in the county, broken down by those who voted and those who didn't. The Republican Party, among other groups, had requested the information as part of its investigation of voting irregularities.

Conservative blogger Stefan Sharkansky pointed out the discrepancy Wednesday, and by yesterday it was Topic A among Rossi backers and Republican Party officials.

Party Chairman Chris Vance said it could be the "smoking gun" needed to overturn the election.

The number of King County ballots counted in the final tally was 899,199 — 3,539 more than the number of participating voters reported in the county's list

"Where are homeless people supposed to register and vote?"

In terms of actual numbers of voters (greatest good for the greatest number) shouldn't we apply our energies first to fix the problem of getting absentee ballots to our servicemen overseas in time for their votes to count?

If you don't wait til the last moment they can get you a photo ID. Since college IDs have photos in Alabama they may be acceptible too, I don't know. Of course you can get a driver's license at age 16, so you could have had that ID if you had applied.

Get a passport. When I was a minor I traveled quite a bit and needed to cash traveler's checks. My parents took me to the DMV and I was issued state photo I.D. that said "NOT A LICENSE TO DRIVE" all over it.

No, the demoncrats will NOT ignore it--instead, King County voting executives will subtract the number from the number registered and announce to all that THE EXCESS NUMBER OF VOTES WERE CAST BY REPUBLICANS.

I can't believe you are really that naive.

I am far from naive, my friend. I just believe that, as in Florida, there will be an analysis of the votes in this election and the fraud will be exposed to the detriment of the D's. Then the recall can begin.

It's counterproductive to call for a revote when there is no way that's going to happen.

Once he (or she) is registered just about anyone can show up and claim to be the voter.

I won't call again, I just consider him a lost friend, but I have many, he does not.

In my experience, you never know who your true friends are -- until you are in need. When that happens, unfortunately, it usually equates to few, if any.

OMG are you suggesting that just because it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Florida wasn't stolen, and that not one case was brought forward of disenfranchised blacks, that the democrats ever admitted they were wrong!?!?

Are you forgetting Jf'nK running on a platform of "One Million disenfranchised blacks", the black caucus demanding international monitors while screaming "Coup D'tate"!!, Jimmuh making clear references to same while he was foreign F'N soil -> are you saying that an Attorney General who ran a campaign rife with fraud and will be soon sleeping in the Governor's mansion because of it is going to allow a new election once she's in?

C'mon....

No. I'm suggesting that this approach to "alleged" electoral fraud has been tried by the other side without success.

Thanks for clearing that up. The process for objecting was muddled.

I was thinking of a real time challenge such as at the polling place or in the mailroom of the elections office.

But you agree it leaves the process open to abuse? I mean people should be 'challenged' real-time, not weeks after.

The state DMV that provided my picture I.D. as a minor was the Oregon state DMV.

What a lot of us fear is somebody showing up at a polling place saying they are Joe "pushing up daisies" Smith and not having anyone even verify their identity.
