Carloads of Muslim New Yorkers, all U.S. citizens, were detained for hours by federal agents after they returned from an Islamic convention held in Toronto over the weekend. A Pace University student said she was asked by a border patrol officer at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge crossing whether the wire in her bra was a weapon. A white Flushing resident said U.S. officials refused to tell her why she was being held for eight hours.
"It's just appalling," said Jean Tassi, 53. "If I didn't have on a head covering, I would have never been stopped."
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection official said agents acted on intelligence that conventioneers may have terrorists in their cars.
"We understand that most of these conferences are legitimate, but it is our duty, it is incumbent on us to verify the identity of everybody entering the U.S. - even citizens," said Kristi Clemens, a Washington spokeswoman. "I understand their frustration."
More than 30 people had attended "Reviving the Islamic Spirit" convention at the Skydome that was billed as a spiritually uplifting event.
"I refuse to be treated like this in my own country," said Miriam Soliman, 20, a Brooklyn-born finance major who said she was interrogated about her underwire bra.
Not likely.
I'm pretty confident we can stop the terrorist, without fingerprinting every American Citizen returning from abroad.
What is the solution then? Companies fingerprint new employees. Just went through this myself. I figure precautions of all kinds must be taken. I agree with previous posts that U.S. muslims are not yelling loudly about the inhumane beheadings. Yes, photos and fingerprinting are much worse than those pasky beheadings!
Do you have any problem with how the TSA operates?
"And I suspect that after the next major terror attack you'll likely agree."
Since 911 all of the "next major terror attacks" have taken place outside of this country -
I think that shows that Bush is doing a pretty good job.
As I mentioned, profiling for Muslims in the middle of a war against Muslim terrroists is perfectly logical. .....and probably necessary.
I think so too (and never said otherwise). And the President himself knows full well that another major terror attack on American soil is not a matter of if, but when.

Shoot the inspectors?
"What would you say if I told you these U.S. Citizens were forced to be fingerprinted and photographed before CBP let them go?"
I don't know - is that something you are likely to say ?
( the link didn't mention anything about that )
"And the President himself knows full well that another major terror attack on American soil is not a matter of if, but when."
Not if we kill enough of them first - but then again, the Oklahoma City bombing was an American, so I suppose eventually somebody will do something...
Hmmm...nice point. I did not know that.
What is it that frightens you about being fingerprinted, every bank that cashes a check where you dont have an account does it now.A thumbprint at least.
The only thing that bothers me about getting fingerprinted is getting the ink off my finger.
ping
Describe a Muslim?
Coming back from an IslamoFascist love fest in Canada? Get out of my country you vermin. Go back to whatever hell holes you monsters crawled out of.
Maybe we should fingerprint and photograph everyone before they fly, just for safeties sake.
That's why I posted this particular link. If you do a search, you will find out that each and every one of these Muslims, were US Citizens.
I wanted to see what people would post, without knowing this particular fact. It's very eye opening.
That hell hole would be America.
"If I didn't have on a head covering, I would have never been stopped."
I wear a head covering most of the time while out (W 04 cap)and never have a problem
You must not read many of my posts then.
